While I don't know exactly this correspondence, I do see what he's saying and it happens ALL THE TIME. Like I said, I'm not sure it fully applies here or not due to lack of details overall, but he's just saying there were some things off in the letter, so they pulled it and did it over. What exactly were the points that were off? How off? And done by who/who is actually responsible for the information that was off? How much did Holder actually have to do with it? This could go three different directions in all honesty

1) Holder and department pulling/hiding a lie, yet they have to understand that original info is still available.
2) The correspondence had some things off and they fixed it once they became aware of it, and the person/people in charge of the error could be as important as the error itself.
3) Political grandstanding (republican this time) to hammer a point the can be made to look worse than it really is.

Due to the process of late, I just assume both are at fault and it's a little of 1 and 3. Fuck both parties, it'd be nice to actually go after wrongs throughout, not just against the other party.
