Yup, then like everything else he bought, Vince McMahon destroyed it. I never understood why he couldn't keep WWF(E), WCW & ECW brands all completely separate when he consolidated the industry. How cool would it have been if they really had "invasions" of ECW guys messing up the WWF guys once or twice a year? Or WWF guys starting angles with WCW guys across platforms? Then they could have had one huge mega-PPV each year that would have had cross-over between all of the brands.

Yeah, I suppose you're right, although there were definitely careers women could really succeed well in back then. I don't know your situation (married / single, kids / no kids, etc.), but back then jobs paid well enough where only one member of the household had to work, too, so if a wife chose to stay home to raise a family it wouldn't cripple them financially. Once the workforce doubled in the 60s & 70s with more and more women entering fields they didn't traditionally participate in (or were traditionally open to them), wages were depressed so badly that unless one of them makes real bank, both partners now NEED to work to support living expenses.

I think the social dynamic made the workplace as much as the workplace made the social dynamic back then (as well as today).

Steve Harvey used to headline the Kings of Comedy show when we first started doing it. One night, he bombed so bad, he just went back stage, sat down, took his wig off and cried into his afro.
