Is a vote by the people the right thing...or...did Greece cede their rights by joining Europe?

The problem with the Greeks is, like California, they want everything but do not want to do anything for contribute to getting it.
That they should know by now that it does not work that way.
They don't want to pay taxes, they don't want to adhere to the EU guidelines but they want their help and money.
Totally unreasonable.

Just like the 99% here.

If they vote to turn down the bailout aren't they rejecting help and money?

They want the money, they just do not want to follow any of the rules and such that comes with taking that money.
The EU wants to prevent them wasting said money the way the wasted the rest and then needing more help.
They just want it handed to them.

They think since they invented civilization, they can just coast for the next 3000 years.

The Greek Default Thing
It's all greek to me.
They want the money, they just do not want to follow any of the rules and such that comes with taking that money.

The problem is the EU didn't give a fuck about the rules in the first place -- Greece buddied up with big financials and gamed the requirements for joining the EU and no one particularly cared. Now that the teat has dried up and the bondholders are coming for their money, Greece is forcing austerity measures on the populace. That isn't going to end well for anyone and most definitely not the citizens. The best thing that could happen right now is Greece to say fuck you to the EU and go back to the drachma -- being able to fully manage your currency is vital (see California, Texas and other large economies that don't have central banks)
edit:
Before anyone comes crying about being anti-capital, I'm not exactly shedding a tear about Greece. They should have known better and voted accordingly -- they were promised everything and didn't believe that somethings are too good to be true. The financials just did what they were paid to do by the Greek government.

Hmmmm..Since the 99% pays the majority of the taxes, that statement doesn't wash..
Still, its the Greeks who have been fucking everybody for years . They've been borrowing money so everybody can retire there at 50, with better compensation than Social Security by at least 50% .What's amazing is that nobody stepped on their necks until NOW.
