View Full Version : Andy Rooney = DEAD
what a crappy deal, you work all of your life, finally retire and a month later you die. (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57319150/andy-rooney-dead-at-92/)

From reading some of his writing and from listening to some of his interviews, I've always believed that he was a lot more complex, and darker, and therefore more interesting than the parody image of him as an old curmudgeon complaining about the mundane and the new. (Although Ron's bit using the Rooney voice to mock out Fez is always great.)
Although he would reject the premise, Godspeed Mr. Rooney.

It was the 60 Minutes gig that gave him that image of being just an old red-ass who hated everything. His writing, as you say, is far more complex and multi-faceted, and isn't just about how much something pisses him off.
