The Distillers are interesting. They kindof really underachieved. Tim Armstrong went to Australia on the warped tour and picked up the 17 year old lead singer of a local band, who lied about her age and moved to America so they could get married. Ofcourse Armstrong had a heavily influence on the band from that point on, and released their music on his label. Eventually they got divorced and the band broke up, people often accusing Brody Armstrong of being a lesser Courtney Love, only really informed by the presence of her man.

"Paxton = Chet" always keeps my mind sorted with these two. Until a few years ago, I lothed everything either of them did. Hated them both. Confused them both, as you do. But there was no confusion as to whether either was worthy. Lately, I've been warming up to both. Broken Lizard got me into Paxton with Coconut Pete in Club Dread. Then, I remembered that he was in Boxing Helena - worthy. And, Twister has many High-larious moments, intentional or not, and he fits in nicely.

On the other side of the bill, he stunk up Lost Highway IMHO, and Independence Day plain sucks all around. However, Bottle Shock, Too Big to Fail, and I learned a new, interesting side of him in Zero Effect (excellent character).

I would argue that we've all been grumbling about the way things are for a long time and are largely ignored, the more radical element which you dont like (and I'll be honest, I dont like them either) are the ones really making the media pay attention and in turn the whole country voice an opinion on what's going on. The presidential election is going to have to address the general discontent brought to light by OWS, and thats pretty huge. They're going to address the more moderate concerns because ofcourse noone is going to legislate just redistributing wealth so we all have money, but hopefully they'll be forced to do more for the middle class.

Well, they can only really try and shrink the discontent because they're never going to satisfy real radicals. I think people would be willing to take just the belief that the government has the capacity to fix problems. I think that's what sortof sets our time right now apart, the government gets so deadlocked. In another week the super committee will probably miss their deadline and not deliver a budget because they wont give in on party lines to serve the country as a whole. We've gotten so far from pragmatic it's nuts.

The catch 22 is without the radical element noone is paying attention, but with the radical element you're alienating the normal, everyday middle class working person that is being severely underserved by the government right now.

Went to the eye doctor last evening and once the exam was happening, the doc said that I had to be dialated. But, one of the machines that I had already used a few minutes before can be used in place of dialation - but at a $30 extra cost. So, regular dialation, blurry vision and giant pupils for hours (not to forget the blinding strong light that they shine in your eyes) OR pay $30 and lets look at what the machine took - pics of the inside of my eyballs.
