Site question: Read posts behavior

Is there a setting to make it so that posts are considered unread/new only after you read them and not based on time/date of site visit?

ie. I go to site but don't read all the thread, I get interrupted. I go back to site later and stuff I may not have read yet is not considered new/read?

Nay, about which topics get Yellow highlights, and which posts have arrows saying go the the first new post, I'd rather have them say go to the first unread post (like other forums do). So I was just curious if it was a personal setting or a site wide behavior that can't be changed.

There isn't. As a matter of fact, if you stay logged in, but don't do anything for like 10 or 15 minutes, all of the "new posts" revert to "Today's posts" and are no longer highlighted as being unread.
