My wife did the brining thing for the first time this year, I was amazed how much flavor it added to the turkey. The whole process was a pain in the ass, we had to do the brining in the bag like you did, then put the whole thing in a big cooler and cover it in ice. But it was worth it.

Mine was only 12 pounds, so after putting it in the bag, it fit in the roasting pan in the fridge. I looked at several different recipes, and came up with my own brine. And to cook it, I did the first half hour at 500 degrees to crisp the skin, then finished it off at 350.

As for Thanksgiving, yeah, it would be nice if people could just have the day off.

My son is a part timer at Best Buy, he went in at 5:30, he got time and half for working, his only complaint was that the full timers got double time and a half.
Everybody bitching about this whole thing should start boycotting Thanksgiving day parades and football games. Do you know how many people it takes to put on and televise one of those things? Parking attendants, concessions , TV people, players, refs, beer and peanut guys? Get over it, we all use products and services on Thanksgiving that cause somebody to go to work.

fucking stupid comparisons to things that have no need to be open
not to mention those games fucking rotate, and the job is VERY infrequent compared to people who pretty much work every other fucking day of the year

because football games "need" to happen on Thanksgiving? And you're forgetting, most of the people who find themselves in a place in their lives where they have to work at one of these places need the extra hours, they make a lot of their yearly income starting right now, hours are plentiful between now and Christmas. I'll count this as another one of those times where we just disagree, and me and millions of others are just stupid.

I have no clue. Some people have said they thought they smelled a dead animal for the past couple of months. I never noticed, myself. Some guy in Maryland killed his live-in girlfriend, and dumped her back there. He'd been charged with her murder since day one, but they didn't convince him to take them to her body until a few days ago.

All he had to say is bad calls happen and this time they were lucky to be on the good side of it...but nope, he took the stance of "great call" "i don't see the issue with it" BULLSHIT and i have zero respect for such bias. He mishandles the talent on your team anyway, as he putd RGIII at risk too often, came back too soon and doesn't use a great back in Morris right bc he has to use Helu and others as Shanny always goes all over the map with rbs.
