Michael Kay was going on about this yesterday asking all the guys in the studio if they'd rather be Tom Brady or Derek Jeter.

They all said Brady and Kay was beside himself.

One of his arguments was " Jeter was a 1st round pick. Brady was a 6th rounder. " Another was " Jeter started early on and Brady only started playing when somebody got hurt. "

While he did the 5 championships versus " only " 3 he left out some big things I felt.

For one Brady was an MVP and holds a record for most TDs in a season.

Brady is constantly in the argument for one of the greatest players of all time and unless you're a Yankee fan Jeter is not.

What do you guys think ?

this is tough. I can see great reason to be either one.

Jeter has more money, just a fact of baseball and gettin endorsements in NY vs Boston. he also lives in a bigger city with more shit to do. To some that could be bradys advantage, but ill take NYC over anywhere else any day. jeter also is single, so he is free to use his good fortunes to get himself whatever ladies he desires without gettin in trouble.

Brady plays the most popular sport in america. he is also at the most important position, meaning he gets the most credit for what happens, deserved or not. He gets to be the show, as opposed to a cog in a wheel of 9 cogs. And brady is the best player on his team. Jeter usually wasnt.

I choose brady and its for 1 simple reason. The scheduling of work is far better. Jeter has to work basically from mid feb to mid to late october every year. When he does have time off, his home area is always cold. If he wants to go to the beach, he has to travel. if he wants a change in weather, he has to travel. I know he lives in tampa in the offseason but still, that means you are only home like 3 months a year until you retire.

brady has to work 3 weeks in may, and then from mid july through mid to late january. He has more time off to enjoy himself, and can stay home and get all seasons, allowing him to do all activities with limited travel. (thats an issue, athletes dont love to travel, generally, in the offseason cause they have to do it so much for the rest of the year. Its a pain in the ass) Plus, although Brady has to practice, he is a QB, so most of his work week is lighter than playing a game every single day. So ill be brady, divorce my wife so i can party, and enjoy the extra time off and being home 4 days out of the week where i have away games, instead of being gone 2 weeks at a time

although i agree that the nfl work schedule is shorter and possibly better. but lets play devils advocate. other then spring training there is no practice with baseball. football you practice almost every day and live in the weight room and film study. baseball players party after every game because the sport takes less toll on the body and as long as you are up the next day you can play. in football you need much more mental and physical recovery time.

Its not formal practice like NFL and NBA, but you have to be out there 5 hours before the game for conditioning, you gotta run, take BP, every day you basically go through about 3 hours of practice for the game. you still do as much, if not more, when you arent playing games.

and yea in football you watch a ton of film, but thats not stressful. and baseball players, the better ones anyway, are constantly watching film on pitchers and going over scouting reports and what not. its not like they show up, play the game, then go out and thats it.

it matters to me cause i would live in the city i played. Esp if i had a family. I wouldnt be like jeter and live in florida all off season. Id live in this area all year round, cause its just more convenient.
