That's Downton Abbey, not downtown abbey, and its arguably the best show on TV right now.
If you liked Upstairs/Downstairs, (wtf?), or if you read Follett's, "Fall of Giants", or if you can remember Dallas or Dynasty, then tune into PBS Sunday nights and sit back and enjoy the ludicrous behavior of the England's super rich, circa 1916, and the minions that support them. Ludicrous, yes, but compelling with first class dialogue and a great storyline. Maggie Smith, that old cow, is fantastic. Yeah, Maggie Smith. I'm not saying its porn, okay? Its great television, so get your compilations on youporn and then come back to PBS when you've cleaned up. Capeesh?
I am a Dexter, Breaking Bad fan, for reference, and this series hooked me via netflix from the opening scene, season 1 episode 1, (netflix still currently offers via streaming).
The show has it all, and goddamnit I want to talk about it. So watch it.
I envy you. You have 10-12 hours of marathon televsion in front of you that will seem like ten minutes, enjoy. Season 2 started Sunday night, but I strongly urge you to catch up before you start watching it real time.
