Sorry I had words before but I watched some breakup song videos and now I'm a blubbering mess so, yeah, 6 years, broken up, 2 year old puppy looked so sad today as I moved out half my shit, after three days I just want to cry a lot.
You guys are the best, always supportive. Thanks.

That sucks and nothing really can help except time. The worst is drunk dialing/drunk moments of weakness. I cannot stress enough how important it is to stay away from your phone during those times! One mistake can set back recovery by months.
That being said, I went through this a few times and just assumed I was totally incompatable with women. Out of the fucking blue I met my (now) wife and less than 2 years after meeting, I gots me a wife, kid, and mortgage. I can't imagine being happier with life but, not that long ago, I found myself in your situation. In my sadness and frustration I just resolved to turn it into a positive. And doing that prepared me to be ready to meet my real soulmate.
Things can turn around so fast as long as you are open to them and work on self-improvement and not self-pity over the next few days/weeks/months.

I'm sorry buddy. No kind of breakup is easy, amicable or otherwise. Buck up, camper, FATP is right--time is the best healer and all that.:glurps:

Truer words, my friend, truer ... wait.
We may believe that, since you're giving the advice, the "someone" is a filly. Yet you leave it vague by saying things like, "if they don't come back," or that "it" goes out there to suck for a while.

You make me remember my first love (and my first love lost).
We used to sing in the car together and our song was Wonderful Tonight by Clapton. That was over 20 years ago and I still think of her and get a little down when I hear it today.
I think that we all have a little hole to fill in our lives and when you are in love and in a relationship, that space is filled with her love. But when it is over and she's gone that space remains filled with the love she had for you - but another space opens up. So its hard becasue you are always carrying that love she had for you in your soul but also empty in another way. Soon you will find another to fill up that next slot of emptiness but will always have a little piece of her with you.
What a wondeful thing love is - the strongest driving force in nature - and what a bitch it can also be when lost. Grieve as long as you need, then get back out there - there is a cool chick around every corner.

Hi, no one has to respond to this or whatever, I just wanted to verbalize it somehow, if you were in the listening thread today you know I went to my ex's and my house after the show to move some more shit out of there before I get the UHaul to move all the furniture and big stuff before the lease is up next month. I ended up spending like three or four hours over there and it was such an amazingly, sadly, nice afternoon together where we started the process of really dividing out what shit was who's and all that and a deluge of memories came up and new funny stuff that I won't get into cause it's the kind of thing only two people who live them together will actually ever get but I can't actually articulate the emotions I'm feeling right now aside from saying in a broad sense it was such a nice, great time and also so very very sad, and I'm probably going to be crying all night but...I don't know, that's it I guess, thanks for listening.

So I just realized a weird thing that I guess I always felt but never articulated since this is the first person I've broken up with and been in love with as an adult person; I'm never going to stop caring about her well being, like for instance, and I won't get specific to protect the innocent, but she had some medical stuff that she didn't want to pursue getting taken care of cause of whatever weird psychological hold ups we all have from time to time, and I was reminded of it today while listening to a podcast, and I'm seriously like wracked with the same feelings of anguish I felt when we were together and it would get brought up. Maybe some of you who are older than me can speak to this, like, even though this person is not going to be in my life anymore forever, isn't it odd that I still profoundly care about her well being? And don't get me wrong, I care about every human's well being, but to specifically know someone...I don't know. Life is so weird.

I've been moving it out in increments cause I'm trying to find a place while I live with my dad and I didn't want to fill his house up with shit, but our lease is up at the end of the month so now I really gotta get it all out of there.

It's not odd. I'm younger than you (24) and I knocked up a girl at least twice (it was agreed. i paid for the pill.) and I care about her so much. She's family. There's only two people who I care about as much who aren't family. It's fine. You're a good guy. That's awful but fucking admirable at the same time. Fucking godbless you for being able to make jokes that do't make you feel so awful that you don't make them.
And as brought up in another thread, my dream would be being a staund up even though my jokes are more awkward then funny.
(in an odd way this post makes me think of the cityscape of mountainside NJ. There's one or two great streats to drink and be on ada whole bunch of other streets of historical bullshit that isn';t funny.
Who would wanna hang out sometime at a bar or comedy club where I can bomb (I'll be lit then as well). But it'll be fun for the few who get that I'm the kind of person who is drunk only to push ahead who his stupid agaenda of liberal yet christian beliefs ("people should marry no matter what based on the aspect of LOVE.
And goiign out of the way with FOX News whatever, food stamps, economony, has nothing to do with the fact that two people who love each other should be together as MARIAGE.
