the grand government conspiracy continues. Clearly, Obama and his cronies have now teamed up with the legendary LA Board of Supervisors. Pretty soon we wont be allowed to dump our old motor oil in the river anymore, either.

Hey, WF, did you ever think maybe alot of people complained about being hit by flying shit on a crowded public beach in the peak of tourist season? Maybe, ya know, THE PEOPLE spoke up at a board of supervisors meeting.

What the fuck is board of supervisors? is that some faggot west coast way to say town or city council?

Of course you would be for this. Anything your overlords in any layer of government propose you are in favor of.

People might get hit at parks so should parks be in the ban also?

How about we ban baseball due to someone getting bonked by a line drive foul ball

What does this have to do with Obama? Or maybe you want a federal law so it covers every beach and waterfront area.

First they came for the frisbees,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a frisbee player.

Then they came for the footballs,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a football player.

Then they came for the beer,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a beer drinker.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

a couple things. first of all, i didnt say i was for this. i just posed you a question, which you did not answer.

Ill address this nonsense. First of, baseball. You have a waiver on your ticket. you consent to that when you enter the park so you cannot take legal action.

As for parks, again, i didnt say i was for this. However, if people complained, and it was put to a vote, and passed, then there is nothing i can do. so if people wanted it banned at the park, then thats life.

Instead of assuming nonsense, why didnt you actually just answer the question i asked you in the first place. I never said i was for or against anything, just asked you a question.

Ill try again, here is another question. If you hate things so fuckin much, why dont you move?

So the Board can vote without input from the people? Does a couple of complaints verify draconian laws like this? Are people INTENTIONALLY throwing frisbees at people on a grand scale?

Thankfully I dont live in CA but like with everything else this can spread like a cancer across the country.

did you even read my posts? I said maybe people went to the board and complained, and enough people did that it was voted on. Also, they will have areas where you CAN do it. You just cant randomly do it anywhere. Its been that way on our beaches since you first went to one. So relax

Lifeguards will be turned into law enforcement officers.

As with every other fucking ridicuous law passed since 2007. Another reason why it was passed is due to the recession. Municipalities need to raise revenue with a lower tax base.

I still believe its a way to raise revenue. So Cal has been battered by foreclosures, loss of tax revenue so they are finding new ways to collect

which is why, htough WF seems to ignore the fact, that they made designated areas on the beaches for those activities. basically this law says you cant do it randomly. you have to move to the areas they set up with no bathers

The new ordinance declares that anyone can kick a ball or swat a tennis ball anywhere on the beach during the winter.

When beaches are crowded in the summer, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, lifeguards will designate areas where the games can be played "generally away from the crowd," Kreimann said.

Lifeguards can stop a game if it threatens safety in crowded areas. They can give a ticket to people who ignore them.

But as far as the $1,000 fines the media reported for kicking a ball, that also was wrong.

A first infraction for playing in the nondesignated area can be up to $100. A second infraction is $200, and a third can be up to $500 in a 12-month period.

yea, what a terrible awful thing. the same terrible awful thing every NJ and NY beach have had since the first time i went to the fuckin thing.

Complain to NBC news for reporting the wrong amount for fines.

I did post that the law was for btwn memorial and labor day.

Like I said. Revenue is down they need to collect money in newer ways.

Ive never seen anyone play in btwn a crowd

And with all the fiscal/financial problems CA has they have to worry about what goes on at the beach?

This is a racist law especially against latinos. CA is home to hard working immigrants from Mexico and Central America and they play soccer. These people are having their rights violated. They should seek an exemption from this racist law.

Yeah WF, it's all about the money

"We don't go out and look for violators," he said. "We've never issued a ticket. We've never done that. We understand that people like to recreate differently. We encourage that. That's what the beaches are for."

Damn Commie pinkos. Taking away my right to go naked at the beach and practice my target shooting:

The ordinance does have some $1,000 fines written into it. You can't be nude, shoot a gun or swim or surf in hazardous conditions or prohibited areas.

So they never will? Municipalities have no money. Ive noticed since the recession started there are more seatbelt /DWI Checks plus new laws regarding motorists for example in NY now you need to move over on the pkwy if theres a tow truck behind you, if not I think the summons starts at $250

They have that law on all Jersey beaches? Im not being a smartass, I really dont know. For 35 years Ive been going to beaches in Margate, Wildwood and Sea Isle City and we just tossed around a football or fruisbee wherever we wanted. Never seen anything said to anyone. Dont get me wrong we didnt play right in the middle of the crowd, but we'd either walk closer to the water or a little behind the blankets, but there was no designated area that I ever saw. The only designated areas Ive seen are for volleyball, because thats where they set up the nets.

those basically are the designated areas. they arent marked, but if its clear they dont fuck with you. if you go by the crowds and do it they will make you stop or kick you out. thats basiclaly what LA is gonna do

We have the same thing in CT, as well as a ban on all kiteboarding. As long as you don't have a ton of kites setup and taking up the beach and are generally respectful most people like to watch kiteboarders. I've had unrelated people argue (successfully) with park rangers who were waiting for us to get in so they could kick us out on multiple occasions.
