They play the Limbaugh audio which ends with "I take it back, she's just round heeled." And then start up "he took it back? You never hear the full clip, funny how it gets edited to drive an agenda..." Round heeled means slutty you fucking morons.

And to play tit for tat with agenda like they do is awful. This only gets picked up becuase of agenda. Why do you think anyone would exclude birth control from their health care plan? Agenda is only something the left has I guess.

El Mudo
03-05-2012, 03:50 AM
Listening to these three brainiacs talk about birth control certainly is a hoot.

For one, you don't take a birth control pill every time you have sex. On the "conventional" pill, you take it once a day, and it doesn't matter how many times you have sex. Anyone who's been around a breathing, sexually active woman for more than a week should know that. And furthermore, not everyone uses a birth control pill purely for contraception. Some women need the hormones.

And two, these dipshits are so out of touch that they have no idea how much it costs to buy drugs without insurance. If anything, the $3,000 figure cited by Fluke is too LOW. "We did some quick math, and it should only be about $1600 a year!" Should it?

On the Rush thing, there is NOBODY out there saying Rush isn't allowed to say what he wants. Of course he can. But saying what he wants also brings something called "consequences" like, I don't know, people getting on advertisers to boycott your show, or a suspension. I know this is their whole "deal" after Homeless Charlie and Imus, but in the former case, they weren't suspended for Homeless Charlie; they were suspended because management told them to shut the fuck up about it, and they didn't. And in Imus, it's the same thing as Rush.

To think one can say what they want to without consequences of any kind is fucking five year old thinking.

Talking about abortion and rape....

These people that say that abortion should not be allowed, even due to rape, seem to change their tune if it happens to their family.

When it does not affect their lives directly - it bugs me how they act so high and mighty.

Eh, if you believe abortion is murder of an innocent life, it wouldn't change anything.

I know of 2 instances of die hard religious families - having a hard nosed stance on pro life that changed their tune due to insest and rape (but just for their family).

Not labeling all into this catagory - but just saying, that people tend to re-think and sway their opinions when it happens directly to them or thier family.

Bugs me some.

I normally dont even give two shits about the abortion issue....

but I have a friend that believes -
If a woman gets pregnant buy her husband or boyfriend, she should have no right to have an abortion but if she is raped, then she should.

So, if she has an accidental pregnancy then she should be forced to keep the baby because of her lack of practicing safe sex ... but if she is raped, then it wasnt her fault and should be allowed.

Strange that he defines it that way....

I haven't listened to this morning's show yet but I always love the argument that they make that the people who are complaining are never happy with the apologies. Sal the intern wasn't happy about being asked to get everything food and drink wise for the boys and rightly so. He said something to E-rock and it didn't really get fixed, he then said something to Travis about it and I guess Travis went to the douche bag manager Scott and Kenny got a talking to and now Jimmy can't just ask Kenny to send someone out to get them food.....he's got to ask only people who work for the show. It kind of sounds petty, but what they were really pissed about was that someone would go to managment for something like that because now management throws their weight around and its never good for the show.

Jimmy's abortion stance is silly. On one hand he thinks that there is some quantifiable time period where the fetus is not a human being yet he says he doesn't know when that is, just that he is sure that it is there. Then he says that women who get raped should be able to abort. So what if a woman gets raped and then waits past his magical interval? Does she still get to have an abortion?

Either be pro abortion or against it. And if your for it, then don't ask for double manslaughter when some drunk runs over a pregnant woman.

I'm finally getting to listen to this exciting radio discussion.

It sounds to me like erock and Sal tried to keep it among the staff. Sal spoke to erock, erock spoke to kenny, kenny still sent Sal out for food, Sal spoke to erock again and then to travis. When kenny kept sending Sal out, Travis went to management.

Yeah, keeping things among the staff is a great idea, unless you have someone who ignores requests, like Kenny.

Kenny is a tool with his interrogation style. He thinks because he works for Opie, Anthony, and Jimmy (at least i think he does), everyone should treat his (kenny's) work like the word of god.

I would have been pissed at Kenny the way he was intimidating Erock and Travis with that bullshit cop thing they do. that guy made me want to shoot my radio, but I'm listening on my phone, and I like my phone. Why can't people just not listen to what they don't like? If it offends you don't listen, if enough people agree with you the show will go away, if not, then you are in the minority opinion and nobody's making you listen anyway. This thought police method of going after advertisors is just a method a vocal minority has created to get their way, no matter what everybody else wants.

I completely agree you.

Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but wasn't the caller just making the point that people who call for someone to be fired or advertisers to be boycotted are just exercising their right to free speech? That is true.

It doesn't mean the parent company has to cave and fire the entertainer, or the advertisers have to cave and pull their ads.

In the case of Rush, even if someone did collect 100,000 signatures calling for him to be fired, why would his employer care? The last I heard, he had an audience north of 15 million.

My take on this all has changed over the years. If they want to get you pulled from the air for anything, like because your favorite color is blue, it's people's right to try to do. I agree with o&a that management should stick up for their people more, tho.

And as for rush, if he has 15 million listeners, but doesn't bring in advertising dollars, THAT'S why they would dump him. I think it would be shortsighted of them, but that would be the logic involved.

why should a loud minority be allowed to take something away that a majority enjoys? I agree that they have every legal right and the freedom of speech to do so, but that doesn't make it right. What needs to happen is the majority needs to get loud and let sponsors know that is they puss out, it won't go well for them.

The worst part about the offended simpletons are the fact that they are NEVER people who are listeners to the show, they are people who have heard about it and then decided that they are offended about a radio show they've never listened to.

What needs to happen is the majority needs to get loud and let sponsors know that is they puss out, it won't go well for them.
I fucking hate vocal minority, squeaky wheel bullshit. Just change the fucking channel!

There's no such thing as 'right' though. That's a totally arbitrary term in this scenario, so who gets to determine which right is the right that everyone agrees to follow?

And noone wants to point their finger at the media, this all a giant content farm to them and they could give a shit as long as people keep arguing. They're like a fucking casino, the house always wins.

I'm so tired of these non conversations (nonversation.) If we were still allowed to post videos on this shit I would put up screaming at a wall.

I think you are splitting hairs, I know it's not technically a constitutional issue, but it has become common place for loud groups of people to exert pressure on sponsors to cost broadcasters thier jobs and silence them. The truth is most of the time the people offended are not even listeners, but they silence a voice, taking a show away from the people who enjoy it. In Limbaughs case he is a political force and there are political reasons for the left to want him to shut up. The potential for this power to silence using threats to sponsors to be used for political gain definately approaches a freedom of speech issue.

I think you have this backwards. I agree it is in bad taste and it'd be nice if people would chill out but it is within their rights to pressure whomever they want regardless of whether they are doing it for political or personal reasons. Any attempt to stop them from doing what they are doing would be a definite free speech issue. And who would have the authority to do this? Should the government step in and prevent groups from pressuring advertisers not to support different programs? This is just the price you pay for being a public persona...

I pretty much agree, I never said anything about preventing anybody from pressuring advertisors, I offered no solution. I was only saying that a pandoras box has been opened by this practice, and the net effect is people are being silenced. And we need to figure something out or radio will become all music all the time, nobody will be brave enough to talk.

Freedom of speech is not an not an absolute. There are limitations regarding libel, slander, obscenity and incitement to commit a crime.

"Limitations to freedom of speech may follow the "harm principle" or the "offense principle", for example in the case of pornography, religious belief or hate speech. Limitations to freedom of speech may occur through legal sanction or social disapprobation, or both."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech

To me where it gets political is falsehoods and frequency thereof which is also covered under limitations.

Interesting how they changed their stance on the rush issue this morning. Came in line with what a lot of folks on here were saying. Protestors have the obvious right to call for a show to be removed while advertisers and management should stick up for the talent.

And boycotts never work. There's been a boycott against Nestlé for 35 years because they kill third world babies and I bet most people have never even heard of it.

Bonnie is so off here; if you think something is morally wrong, of course you should want everyone else to follow it. Using her slavery example, some people thought it was wrong and fought against it. They didn't just "not own slaves" and let others make their own decision. It's obviously not a perfect example, but the principle is clear to follow. And yes, I'm in favor of gay marriage before it comes around to that.

At a fast food rest. during breakfast this morning they ask if I want to donate money to another cause .... god, i hate being guilted into giving.

I gave the scouts and fast food a couple of bucks - but if I want to give, I will come to you. Leave me the hell alone when Im out.

I shouldnt give anything due to me giving a shitload to the United Way each year because of my company harrassing me to do a shit load then.

No, I don't mind different every once in a while but what they are putting out there this week just has too many of the things I dislike. Troy, Danny, Roland, and Sam (in anything more than small doses).

I love Anthony, but he can't carry a show all by himself and I get the feeling that he really couldn't give two shits if the listeners aren't enjoying what he is putting out.

I hate how Rich paid all this money for fake teeth, and now sounds like Daffy Duck, and NO ONE absolutely NO ONE busts his ball about his teeth. They make fun of how he sounds, but he's got these giant fucking horse teeth that he spent all this money on and now sounds RIDICULOUS and he hasn't been verbally beaten into changing his Sylvester the Cat scccchhhpeeeecccchhhh.

ha- first date years ago was a sunday lunch meet up at this chicks apartment (we had mutual friends and met for a moment before). After a couple of hours I made the moves and next thing im asking her to 69 (her on top) in the den floor. She was so reluctant and later on confessed that she didnt feel totaly clean in her asshole - and was nervous etc....
She couldnt believe that I talked her into it.

I used to be a master cocksman. now, I am just fat

The only 69 I can get now is if I hit O-69 at bingo!

On one hand, I cant believe that Oand A will bitch about this stuff on the air but on the other, I cant believe how Sirius takes care of business over there.

A lot of people feel unappreciated at work (no matter how much money you make) by the management actions.

Even though Howard gets 100 million - you know that Sirius would pay for anything he wanted on a trip like this.

opie doesnt want anything to be settled behind closed doors because he is a wimp when it comes to negotiation. He tries to embarrass magmt on air into what he wants - kinda chicken shit really.

Jimmy's doing a special for one of the cable channels. He'll be in Cleveland for 3 nights. Sirius offered to pay for half of one night. Jimmy turned down their offer. I don't know the details, but if they're offering to pay, they should pay for everything. It really was insulting what they offered.
