I think when that came out I was just so fed up with the cookie cutter, family friendly, happy rock bullshit and then there was a whole movie with songs that are all in that genre. I just had no interest in it at the time, and now this shitty list has ruuuuunnnned any hope of me ever watching it in the future.

It's actually probably better than you think. Or atleast there are a lot of little things in the movie that make it worth while. It's also not entirely cookie cutter, it isn't challenging by any stretch though. In the extended cut Tom Hanks is gay and Howie Long is his boyfriend.

The Captain Geech thing is a joke and is literally in one scene, it's not like The Monkees the movie.
