we had a 3d imaging machine made years ago (late 80's) by an outfit in Cambridge Mass that didn't require glasses...it used vibrating concave displays and mirrors (cool as anything, but a calibration nightmare)

I can park my Suburban in tight spots, but it's easier when there is more room...I never seem to park in the spots closest to the building (and my wife can tell me exactly how many empty spots there are between our spot and the building...:happy:)

I agree with Fez on the parking issue. If I parked in the spot, I am entitled to it until I move.

I had an incident where the people at Sears Optical had serious problems with their POS terminals and could not sell me my wife's contacts until they came back up. They agreed to call me back when the PCs were back online. When I got in my car and turned the engine on, the people at Sears called me. I turned off my engine, got out of my car and this guy who wanted my space starts losing it. I told him what was up and he still thought I should get out of my space and repark. Makes no sense.

Lived in Japan for five years. They do assigned seats. It was fucking easy, Bennington.
They had a goddamned screen with an image of the seating chart. You touch the seats you want and you get your tickets. It was fast and easy and I ALWAYS got the back row center seats I wanted even if dinner was running late.

I agree, but at that point Zimmerman can reasonably argue he thought his life was in danger. The reports also say he didn't take his gun out until he was being attacked.

I went to Kean College for a semester and they do this wonderful thing where if you just pull into an aisle of parked cars and wait there, no matter who pulls out of a space and no matter how far away the person waiting may be from that space, simply because they are in their car sitting in that aisle it's all theirs.

I took a spot from a chick one time because I honestly didn't even see her waiting....she floored it to get to me and just right away starts screaming and cursing and yelling all this nonsense. I would have moved if she wasn't such an immediate bitch about it, but she was and I told her so. Pretty sure it made her day....and also late for class.

The ONLY difficulty that would come up is if you didn't know which color represents occupied or empty, but that literally only adds a second to the process.

I dont think there is a colleg that has enough parking for its students. A local college here has had a bunch of pedestrians getting hit by cars while walking from parking to class - and the news interviewed many that are complaining that there is no parking and they just keep driving around until a space opens.

I have no opinion about people occupying seats at most coffee shop chains. Most of them have such a poor seat-to-floor space ratio that you can just tell that they don't want even their clients dining in.

That being said, I have watched many restaurants in my hometown get wrecked because the hipster chain smoking, black-shirted, trenchcoated stoners loiter and just make these restaurants look unappealing. I remember a place off of a major highway that would be loaded (4-5 out of 10 booths) with people in white facial make-up every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening. When it opened it was booming, but the goths literally ruined their weekend business. When the owners told the guys they were changing their hours to close by 10 every night because they were making literally nothing on every given night after those pricks bought dinner coffee and no food.

But I think a lot of this situation could have been resolved if they instated a "No White Cake Makeup Policy" or even a "No Smoking Policy" these guys just stunk up an otherwise nice 24 hour restaurant with their BS. (That goth bit from South Park where the kids loiter at Dennys is so spot on it is depressing)

We had that happening at Marist. Students had to cross north and south bound rt 9 traffic to get on to the main campus from the free visitor lot. I'm pretty sure they got that walkway built now though.
