From Newark, make your way to the Light Rail....there is a stop for the Light Rail at Newark Penn Station, I just don't know where it is because its new and I've never used it. I think it's the next stop after Penn Station.

god damnit......you said NY Penn Station.

ummmm, from NY Penn Station, get to Newark Penn Station. Follow directions accordingly.

Here's the NJ Transit site and Light Rail schedule:

At NY Penn Station, on the main concourse level (the one with the giant sign of all train times and tracks) and a few yards behind the ticket holder waiting area is a wing off to the right for NJ Transit Trains. I'm sure there are a few that go from there to Penn Station, so just ask the lady at the information booth which is the next train that goes to Newark Penn Station. I think only trains on the Northeast Corridor line or the North Jersey Coast line go from there to Newark.

PATH from 33rd Steet

You can do that too, but it can be confusing if you haven't done that before. you have to take the stairs out of Penn Station past the NJ Transit wing, walk down about 2 blocks to Herald Square and keep your eyes peeled for the white and blue sign that says NJ Path Trains

Actually, I should say, past the NJ Transit wing and up the stairs out of Penn Station, since it would be easier to describe this in order

like someone else said take the path to newark and walk 2 or 3 blocks on rt 21 or take a taxi which shouldnt cost more then $3. It would probably be easier to walk but either way its very close to newarks penn station. FYI, if you walk and are getting closer and closer to the devils/nets stadium (the rock) then you went the wrong way, turn back around and go 4 or 5 blocks the other direction!

Or keep going the wrong way and find yourself an adventure.

So, it's a left? Or you just screwed up an old saying?

I'm assuming you mean the old saying about turning left from the parking lot at Bumpass Hell onto 89 south and then a left onto 89/36 west and then a right into the parking lot at the Pine Shack Frosty, in which case I didn't screw up a thing.

Thank you
The problem with taking the Path from 33rd is that you have to change at Journal Square and get on another train to Newark.

If you go from WTC...it's one train( a straight shot).

NJTransit is a straight shot as well...and will take you to the same station.

ok, so you're suggesting grabbing the E line to WTC, then PATH to the evil Penn, then walk. correct?

If you ever go again - if you walk a block in the opposite direction out of Penn Station you'll be in the Ironbound section of Newark and you'll find some of the best Portuguese restaurants anywhere.
