CountryBob
04-09-2012, 07:36 AM
I hate the apology game. if ya say words that offend - dont bow down to peer pressure.

i was playing in a golf tourney once with 3 other guys on my team. One of the guys was trying to get the team fired up after missing putts on a previous hole and said " come on Ni..ers, let kick start this shit!"

Anothe guy completely lost his shit over that word saying that it was offensive blah blah blah ect...

Well, all of the guys on the team were white and there was no one withing 250 yards of earshot when it was said. It bugged me how angry that one dude acted - if he was a minority I could see it but 4 white guys in the group? Stuff like this troubles me - is this white guilt?

I was talking to my cousins 9 yr old boy the other night and i asked if he had any girlfriends in school - and he said he had 3 girlfriends. His uncle was sitting there with his partner (he's gay) and after the kid wondered off he said to me that I shouldnt have said girlfriends but instead asked if there was anybody he likes in school.

I have no problem with gays but I told him to fuck off - that man and woman were normal and that he had the opportunity to tell me if he liked boys instead.

It wasnt like I was forcing him to think he has to like girls - God this made me angry at his gay agenda.

you cannot use it on a road you stupid fucks! It will break. It is a gardening tool, I used one a couple of days ago to plant tomatos. The correct phrase is "tough ROW to hoe", as in a row in a garden, you people have annoyed me long enough, get it right, thank you.

Yeah, that seems a little too politically correct.

If it's accurate that 10% of the population is gay, it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume people are hetrosexual until told otherwise.

To play devil's advocate on this I think he might say, or could argue, that it's a straight agenda that has you asking the question that way. And that the implication by asking that is that you more approve that the kid be straight. He certainly has the idea that he's going to get more approval by having more girlfriends.

I dont think either thing is abnormal. And the whole idea about gender neutral childhoods it actually gaining popularity in varying degrees. I dont think I'd only give my kid wood blocks to play with but if I had a daughter a barbie or bratz doll isn't coming anywhere near her.

Really its up to the kids parents as to what they prefer he be asked for that stuff.

Yeah, I dont think Cbob had a malicious thought in his head, but you can totally innocently give a kid a peanut butter and jelly sandwich these days and kill him. Child rearing is just different now. But the same way that in the 60s if your kid dropped out at 15 and got a job in a factory it was a tragedy but it was perfectly fine when my grandfather did it.

Agenda like society has told us it is correct to ask that question in a gender specific way but now times are changing and some people are more sensitive to that than others, IE bobs cousin who when he was a kid was probably a little uncomfortable when people asked him that because he knew he wasn't into girls, but it was expected that he should be.

i think the comment was meant in that in the chance that the child is noticing that he may be gay, he shouldnt be ashamed about it because you picked "girls" specifically. by stating "anyone" you are not condemning or approving his budding sexual preferences, be they hetero or homosexual. im pretty sure there was A LOT of shaming going on for the uncle and he doesnt want the child to experience that shame, which is pretty horrible.

Normal is such a subjective thing. Like you have more crazy girl stories than anyone, and you certainly dont want a baby every time you drop a nut in a lady otherwise we'd have entire universities worth of Cbobs running around fucking shit up. So in some realities it makes more sense for you to be gay. No crazy girl shit and dropping a lot of bathhouse loads.

Our feelings about things are just informed by different experiences, and your experiences made you approach that from one way just like his experiences made your cousin approach it from a different way. Like I said it's really up the kid's parents to determine what they approve of until that kid is old enough to make up his own mind. I dont know how aggressively your cousin came at you with this, but I do know that no matter what any of us believe the younger generations change it to something we're not used to, so you need to just get used to and not get all riled.

Bringing race into this is not the same.

I hope that my cousin's kids are straight and get married and have kids of their own someday.

But if they are gay _ Im cool with that but disappointed.

I dont have an agenda to secretly push a boy into liking girls - its just normal.

And yes, when we were kids it was difficult for my cousin because he has been gay all of his life. He acted feminine and did girl shit when we were playing football and boy stuff. I dont know how many times people asked him if he had any girlfriends or when he was going to get married etc. BUT - that is normal. being gay is not normal. And if being gay becomes the norm for society - then I will change my question of if there are any girls he likes in school.
