We have alot of football fans on here, but most dont follow college much. So i made this to discuss the draft and also for the few board College football fans to tell the non college fans how well or poorly their team drafted.

With my Giants picking 32nd (awesome), ill have alot of time to think about other shit during the first round so

I swear, this has nothing to do with my hatred of all things 'bama'.

But... I hope that the Browns surprise the "experts" and take Blackmon over 'rent Richardson.

They have plenty of other picks to pick up a RB.

i hope the reports are true and the stupid jets trade up to 3 to get richardson.

By the way, i was hoping you would show up for this tonight ozzie. If you are here, me and we can get bob or bama woe could probably run down everything that happens pretty knowledgeably

The bills have needs at OT, LB, and WR. It will be interesting to see where they go. I think tackle is most pressing concern but if kalil and reiff are off the board, it seems like a bit of a reach to go for the third best tackle with the 10th pick. Michael Floyd could be solid opposite stevie johnson with david nelson in the slot.

The Jets can have him.

I don't dislike his skills, just think the Browns have more pressing needs everywhere else on offense, and I don't like taking ANY RB that early. The year that Caddy and Ronnie both went in the top-5 picks, I thought it was a mistake too.

I hate to admit it, but the other bammers projected to go in the first round are ALL solid. Where and when they go is just a matter of need.

Barron, Kirkpatrick, Upshaw, Hightower... are ALL the best at their position, IMO. And 'rent is the best RB on the board... I just think the Browns should take Blackmon.

And, yes, I like Hightower ahead of Kuechly, or however it's spelled, from BC, if you're looking for an ILB.

Dre might have the most competition at CB with Claiborne from LSU and Gilmore from USCe... but whomever ends up with Dre is going to be happy.

The sumbitch could sling a football a country mile, which Al always loved in his QB's.

I guess they hoped that they could teach him the rest... IF he was willing to learn, and he just wasn't (willing or able?... depends on who you ask).

Didn't quite work out for them.

I'm not a huge college fan and the only game I saw was the sugar bowl. I remember being highly impressed with him there. And before then, weren't they talking about the raiders taking Brady Quinn before it switched to Jamarcus? He fucking sucked too.

this exactly. most thought he was a 1 year wonder but because oak had the #1 pick he moved all the way up to 1. a lot of those so called analyst hated the pick but thought maybe it worked out.

as for trent richardson he is a stud and baring any injuries i think he could turn in to the best rb in the league within 2-3 years. if tb, clev etc dont get him the 2nd best rb imo in the draft is lamar miller out of miami, but he and every other rb in this draft are miles behind richardson.

they must have gotten nervous about someone else moving up and taking richardson because they gave up a lot to move 1 spot. they swapped 1st round picks and clev also give minny, 3 more picks #'s 118, 139 and 211.

He obviously doesn't have the the athleticism or coverage ability to play outside in a 4-3, and his height and T Rex arms worry me projecting him as a 4-3 end. He's probably a 3-4 rush backer but again he's slowish coming off the edge. I think he can be a quality player, but he has enough question marks in a draft with a ton of edge rushers to push him down to a likely high second.

The draft had a lot of moves and pretty good picks.

I think Clev had a great 1st round. They got a rb who could be the best rb in the league and quickly. He has speed, strength, great hands and vision. I love this kid and hope he does well. I love Weeden for the Clev. He is a great QB who is ready now and will compete to be the opening game starter and I think he will be. Yes it might have been a reach taking him at 22 in the 1st round but thats only because hes 28. If he was 22 he would have been 1st round talent. Now they need to get a wr and ths team could be something to watch this coming year or next!

The steal of the draft was by far SD. They got what could be the best all around defensive player who was top 5 talent and fell to 18. Ingram can play DE, even some DT, inside and Outside LB, special teams and has speed (game speed, hes faster the his 40 would suggest) and great athleticism. Depending on where they play him he may to get his eight up but thats only if he goes to de regularly. I see him being a yearly all pro/ pro bowler (if by name only since there will be no more pro bowl).

Going into the draft I liked Tannehill but wasnt sold completley. I really wanted Blackman or Richardson (no way we would have got him). But once Blackman was taken I knew and liked the idea of taken Tannehill. I think with the rookie pay scale being as it is now you can take a QB early and not get screwed if it doesnt work out. I do think it will work out and lots of positive articles have been writtien about him and how he could be great. I have also heard some of the bad things but the main bad shit is that he only had 19 college starts. We will see but I will say overall Im happy.

The worst pick in the draft has to be Sea at 15. The guy was projected to be as late as 1 3rd round guy but some say he had 1st round talent. We will see but projected 3rd round means you could have waited.

Not because I hate the Jets but their pick is terrible. The guy has talent but has no passion. Every discussion about this guy is how he takes off plays, doesn't show up, stays with blocks not passionate about football etc. That has bust written all over it. He does have a great size and speed for DE and he looks like a peppers or tuck type of player but doesn't play as hard as either.

Team that fucked themselves most - STL rams. They wanted Kahlil, Blackman, Floyd, Claiborne and even Richardson was being discussed. After all their trading thinking 1 of them would be available they got screwed out of every single one. The tackle they got is a project but we will see. They missed on lots of top talent to acquire more picks. I think they hurt themselves by making the 2nd trade down which cost them at the very least Floyd.

Cant wait til tomorrow, lots of great players left!

This has been an Bama draft so far and Im surprised Upshaw wasn't drafted. They had 4 1st round picks I believe, should have had 5! Role Tide!!!

I've calmed down a BIT from last night, but still feel sick.

I'll never understand or agree with the decision to give away picks to move up.

I can't believe there was a serious threat of the Vikings taking him. And if the Bucs or Jets had made a deal and taken him... so what? The Browns had so many other picks, and so many needs. Why not take your chances, and if he's gone, move on to Blackmon or another need?

Weeden to Blackmon would have been fun to watch, and they could pick up a servicable running back with any of their many other picks.

They didn't want Clairborne, they chose to move the pick after JAX moved up to grab Blacmman. As horrible as they are, they actually have a decent secondary. I agree they could have used Floyd but they have a boat load of needs so the more picks the better for them. Who knows maybe they didn't like Floyd.

I think that they were afraid that someone else would trade up and get him but i agree, seemed unnecessary to me.

For the first time, I think ever, I didn't feel like a dumbass for mousing over one of HBox's posts. This one was actually a link!

Pretty shitty trick to pull on a kid on draft night.

I think someone's going to get a STEAL when they pick him. I'll be rooting for this kid no matter where he goes.

Minny wasnt taking him but TB was moving up or at least a lot of people thought they would to get him. They really wanted him and give them credit for going for it instead of doing what they always do. Clev had 13 picks so to them it was worth getting rid of 3 later rounds picks to gurantee they got the guy they wanted. Same goes with Weeden. They were expected to take him at 37 but didnt think he would still be there.

I love what Clev did I day one, Prisco at CBS seems to hate it. He gave them a C for the RB because as he stated something like RBs dont matter or win you SBs anymore and an F for Weeden. Most other stuff I heard think they did great and that Weeden would be top 15 if not for his age and yes he is 28 but has an incredible arm, accuracy and NFL QB size and strength. I think they did well but now need to do more the rest of this draft. They need another wr maybe a TE, OL and they will really have changed that offense to something better.

They have no weapons on offense for their QB they needed something there. Jackson is getting older but is still good but they cant let him do everything. To me Blackman or Foyd or even Kendall Wright should have been their pick! But if they didnt like Floyd or Wright then they got to draft who they like but thats the fun about the draft we get to love or argue picks!

Indy has the 2nd pick of the 2nd round if you were them wouldn't you draft the TE from Stanford who is the top ranked TE and Lucks go to guy and former teammate? I think Indy should take him since they need some offensive weapons. Whats better to help your young QB then a TE hes familiar with and comfortable with? Lucks OT is also still available and highly ranked, they could go that route as well or maybe get both with a trade?

In a way I hope they take neither and Miami has a shot at 1 of them or would love to see Upshaw fall even further and Miami grab him but I doubt that will happen!

Which player going to Indy the TE or the OT?

I hope someone better falls to Miami, we need some weapons of offense and the line isn't that bad. Yes they could use a RT but we have 1 serviceable wr/te and thats Bess who isn't a #1 he a slot guy.

Just read this, what he says is true but...

Morris Claiborne - DB - Cowboys
No. 6 pick CB Morris Claiborne says he completed only 15-to-18 of the 50 questions on the Wonderlic test at the Combine, leading to his score of four.
"I came to the Combine for football," Claiborne said. "I looked at the test, and wasn’t any questions about football. I didn’t see no point in the test. I’m not in school anymore. I didn’t complete it." Claiborne's score made waves before it was revealed he suffers from a learning disability. The whole episode appears to have had little, if any, effect on his draft stock.

TE from Stanford

I would like Mia to get lineman/ pass rusher next. They have two 3rd round picks, there was at least 5 good WR think 3 are gone now.

Oh yeah just remembered the TE's name Green hope he is around also.

But I like the wr/te more than you (think west coast offense) Last years picks clay and gates where the fastest overall for their positions which should fit it well. West coast runs as a unit not so much by numbers or standout players.

Yet I kept hearing about fans/media wanting to get playmakers.

Seriously though, if the test means so little to you that you completely blow it off don't get your feelings hurt when people mock you out for doing so bad on it.

And, honestly, I think blowing off the test like that would be a bigger negative than doing badly on it. To me, anyway.

Sounded interesting but seems like the 2 guys they might have wanted are still there. Maybe they trade their 2 and a 3 for someones earlier 2 and get Upshaw or maybe they stay where they are and try to land Curry at 12 in the 2nd?

Orlando Salgueiro sports talk radio said Brown is a good one also, and with 3 to pick from they most likely will have a pass rusher from the 2nd round pick if that's the way they go.

He was also saying with no one else but Cam. Wake he would get double teamed all the time, so this sounds good to me. Hope it works out.

the DE was a great pick. He fell because he was suspended the 1st 6 games. They said he would have been a 2nd round pick easily. They also drafted a really good TE who has the size of a TE but the speed and talents of a WR.

I cant believe RB Miller still hasnt gone from Miami or OT Massie from Ole Miss.
