I think Brits make better tv because they go for quality over quantity. They take an idea and make 3-6 really good eps and maybe you can get 2 or 3 seasons out of it. American shows love to drag shit out making many eps boring and delay the story from moving along. Perfect example would be Missing. Show could have been great and all done in 6 or 7 eps. They stretched that shit out over 2 seasons for a total of 20+ eps.

i agree, the british office did it right with 1 season

one season huh?
and it's not as if people have everything written and ready for a series in an effort to stretch them out, they simply last longer in the states as they suck every ep out possible
the brits just move on faster as writers for both put a season together in much the same way

yes one season, ricky gervaise did one and done and it was good
our OFFICE still pretends like the're making a reality show that has never aired after what? 8 years? and the show has gone downhill since the first season which was nothing but a copy of the british OFFICE in the first place

I remember this series. I loved the shit out of it two or three years ago or whenever the heck it first aired. I didn't even know they produced a 2nd season. Very cool.
If ya ask me.... it's far superior to the RDjr movies. They are shot well, but that's about it. Guy Ritchie smells.

Wasn't it in color also? I see b&w when I see replays, but seem to remember it in color.

No, is it the word it, or the abv. as in the work term?

Sherlock is great, but the episodes that air on PBS are edited for time. I downloaded the original broadcasts the same nights they aired in the UK several months ago.
Series 1 is currently on Netflix and those are the complete episodes.

The creators did an AMAZING job of weaving modem technology into the world of Holmes.
It's extremely well done.

yes, 3 episodes in season one, 3 more in season two. but to be fair, the episodes are 90 minutes long each.
I hear tell that more episodes may be coming soon.
edit: a little research shows season 3 won't go showing for at least a year

BBC programs rule. I stumbled on Top Gear on BBC America. Id seen the shitty US version with Anthonys friend. Their version is 1000x's better and very politically incorrect. I may not get all of the pop culture references, but that hasnt stopped me of DVRing the shit out of that show.

I love how seamlessly they move the stories into the modern age. I mean, Dr. Watson was injured serving as an Army doctor in Afghanistan in the original stories too. That place has always been a shithole.

They conform in some ways to the original stories but the S2 E3 leaves me a little pissed off brcause I don't see how they will resolve it without some major bullshit,

I finally got around to cracking open these DVDs over the weekend and yea - WOW - just an amazing show all around. I watched the first season and the first episode of the second - A Scandal In Belgravia, which had me standing up and clapping at the end. Brilliant.
Now I only have two left.... I hate to watch them so quickly! Looks like we have to wait until next year to get more episodes - with Sherlock filming the new Star Trek and Watson in the Hobbit.
So Watson is a chick
That would be the new American series, with Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock and Lucy Lu as Watson. It's just not gonna compare with the BBC series. It'll be dumbed down for American audiences and probably still be cancelled.

Ok, I saw the first two seasons and could have sworn they'd done a third that never made it over. Thanks.
