When you get bored at work you read a lot of conspiracy theory wikis. I, for one, didn't have an opinion on Pope John Paul I before today, and now I do.

Also, Dillinger Four twofer, because if you were going to make a list of top ten punk albums of the 90s, you'd probably consider putting this one between 6 and 10.

In most driving situations you definately feel like you're on auto pilot. Sometimes you really have to pay attention like if the weather is shitty. But if you're looking at your phone you're going to react much slower if something comes up than if you're just sitting there listening to the radio.

2 accidents in an intersection out in the middle of bumblefuck NJ where I live in the last 2 months have been due to teens texting. One girl was texting approaching a stop sign and took out a utility pole. Another teen was texting and blew through the stop sign and took out a motorcyclist.

That is NOT the way my sons text. It has turned into their primary way of communicating with their friends.

Yeah, the alcoholic is defending drunk driving. What an asshole.

Just because people do get where they're going sometimes while intoxicated does not change the SCIENTIFIC FACT that being intoxicated impairs your motor functions and reaction times, which INCREASES YOUR CHANCES of getting into an accident. :furious:

I think it was Anthony that actually had an interesting point on the matter. He said something to the effect that between the hours of 1-3 am its primarily drunks on the road anyways so we should just make DUI legal for those 2 hours and if you are on the road its on and you take responsibility for driving or getting into an accident.

but to say some people can do it and be fine is just pure horse shit (and probly just a bit from Ron to get the rubes like me fired up).

What about cops, EMT's, delivery men? Not to mention all the people who were working in the bars and not drinking?

but another argument against it is, why would the drunks that don't follow the law now stay within the law if its changed? so Im not saying its right, its just the most compelling argument that Ive heard from the (carny) pro-DUI side.

that might be if it was a blood test, but the breathalizer is effected by how recently you've had the last drink. There's a reason why they changed it from DWI to DUI when the law went from .1 to .08, they could no longer call it intoxicated, just under the influence.

You know the guys in the right lane of a 2 lane highway that ALWAYS swing into the left lane if its open at a red light?

If they don't take off the line faster than the guy they were behind in the first place, they should be stripped naked, hung upside down by their toes and whipped with wet spaghetti noodles!!! :furious:

I dont understand how anyone doesn't take off from a light like a drag race just started. Some of these assholes seem to enjoy red lights.

I like it and will love it once I get to know all the systems and things that Im supposed to do. I hate not knowing names or titles or procedures etc. and I have to ask everything. My boss is the controller and he is super cool but doesnt drink so I cant talk about all of my crazy drinking stories. His accountant is a really cool chick that feels comfortable cussing and being normal in front of me.

It has been a big adjustment going from hiring college grads for technical jobs to hoping they have a GED and can pass a drug test.

I miss my listening thread and actually being able to listen to the show - but I hope down the road I will be able to sneak in some time not only at lunch.

After some of your stories, I can't even imagine what this means to you.

I always laugh at the "lipstick" line.

I once was petting the puppy of this chick I went home with after the bar and his lipstick came out and I said " oh look, puppy's first hard on!".

She got really creeped out and I ended up not scoring and went home. I learned to hold the tongue when trying to get some ass.

I think the truth of Fez is that he wants to live a small, family based, church based southern life and still have his own sexuality and he knows he cant resolve the two and that fucks him up.

I watched Cool Hand Luke with my daughter over the Christmas break...she loves any classic stuff

on the bragging about my kid front...she again received straight A's, is currently 24th in her class at Virginia Tech, graduating a semester EARLY (saving the old man some money), and got a summer job at NASA (without her old man's help)

now I return to my usual sniping self...

Thats great news! Love the Hokies!
