Wow I just heard the trainer of "I'll Have Another" is out of the Belmont for tomorrow. Doug O'Neil was on the Dan Patrick show this morning and reported the horse is not 100 percent. So they are scratching the horse from the race. A news report should be coming on soon.
Sad to see I would have loved to see him win the triple crown.

Win or lose, it's always exciting when one wins the first two legs and is in the running for the crown.
No point in watching tomorrow then. Damn.
I pulled "Affirmed" from a hat at a Kentucky Derby party when we were kids in 1978. My brother pulled "Alydar". I won a whopping $8, and thought it was a fortune.
Both of the following races were thrillers, and every time it came down to "my" horse and "his".
I can't believe that was 34 fucking years ago, and there still hasn't been another.

awesome
an actual point, i dont get this. The guy has gotten in trouble like 7 times for doping horses. Now all of a sudden he cares what the fuck is wrong with it? I mean, im sure it wasnt his call to decide to retire the horse. The owners prob did that to ensure stud money. But you dont usually retire a horse that has a minor leg injury that can heal. You would still run that horse in the future in breeders cup or whatever.
Im surprised this clown didnt try to hide it and make it run. He is only a trainer, so he doesnt have stake in the stud money. And he is a douche.

Once they're pulling him out of the Belmont, it's not worth the risk financially to ever race him again. The triple crown would have boosted the fuck out of the stud fees tho.

Definitely! That was my main point. He can print money now, why risk racing him ever again once Belmont's off the table?

I'm cynical enough to think that a deal was cut where if I'll Have Another isn't in the Belmont, the results of drug testing on him disappear. That racing knew having a horse win the Triple Crown then be discovered to be completely doped up would destroy what little prestige this already dying sport has.
I hope this isn't the case, and, really, I admit it probably isn't. But I can't help thinking it.

you are missing the point i made. The trainer doesnt have shit to do with that. The owners do. This trainer is a shady fuck. What i was sayin is i was surprised he didnt hide the injury from the owners and run the horse cause thats the only way he is gonna get paid anymore

he has already been nabbed a few times for doping horses. So if he was, i think they would just bust him before hte race. Not all this shit. I think he prob tried to hide it, like i think jake said. And the vet or whoever caught on and told the owners

Not missing the point, I wasn't responding to your post. I was just guessing at the owners' reasoning, not the trainer's. What you say sounds reasonable (not that I know anything about this trainer).

i only know from ESPN, but appreantly he has been sanctioned like 8 times in Cali for having horses above limits on certain things. most trainers are shady fucks, and this guy seems like a top level shady fuck
