check out the list of the most dangerous US cities for women, (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/26/most-dangerous-cities-for-women_n_1456729.html) which ranked Saginaw, Mich as the least safe for ladies.

It took us four days to hitchhike to Saginaw. Because of the raping.

My guess for no.1 would have been Detroit as well but I was not surprised to see Memphis. Memphis is a shithole, there is about a 2 x 3 block area around Beale st that is tourist oriented and the Elvis house area. Other than that it's sprawling ghetto. ST. Louis on the list kind of surprised me though.
