It's just such an institution down here because they were always here instead of 7-11, then they added the deli and it was great. The idea is that you're not going to get as good of a sandwich as a sandwish place, but it is way better than a chain shop and you can get in and out in like 5 minutes, plus get gas, a bag of chips and a lotto ticket.


We call the wawas with gas pumps 'super wawas.'

The first anecdote in the book is about Betsy Ross being a complete nobody who took credit for the creation of the American flag but didn't actually design it. The only place I heard about Betsy Ross was kids cartoons. My teachers never mentioned it.

My chemistry teacher, however, told me that BS story about the Russians drilling into the center of the Earth and hearing screaming when they listened to the bottom of the drill through special equipment.

Pools are a pain in the ass. You have to clean them daily, check the PH and acidity levels, and (at least in the midwest) you have too have a fence around the pool with a lock to prevent dumbasses from killing themselves on your property.
