My wife had a meeting at a building right across the street. Luckily she got there just before the shooting. They heard the gun shots in the meeting room but at first thought it was just construction noise. Then word got up to them that there was a shooting and everyone's phone in the room starting going off with relatives calling to check on them.

And WF, the are too many guns out there.

Are there too many guns or too many illegal guns? The media is reporting that the shooter is a manhattan resident. NYC has the most strict gun control laws so its a good chance that he got it illegally.

Im not one of these people who believes that everyone should have a gun no matter what, However I believe people who meet the qualifications ie background check should be able to have one. Also I dont want the federal government involved. Let the states and municipalities carry out their policies. While I think NYC's gun laws are too strict its their right to have that policy. The constitution mandates that the federal government shall not infringe on right to bear arms. I in no way want an incorporated approach.
