Who saw that coming? A great American gone. It's a sad legacy that he went to the moon now we can't even get a man into space.

I don't remember him being in the spotlight in regards to Apollo 11 He was the 1st man to step foot on the moon but I always remember Aldrin being the sorta de facto face of the mission

These guys all were true heros. The odds for failure or being killed were enormous. They didn't even know if the lunar lander would fall into a pile of dust when it touched-down or if they would make it back alive.
