HA, engineer-like indeed...our nephew isn't that high functioning, he has some disabilities that will keep him dependent on others

when he first moved in, we thought that a lot of his disabilities were due to his mother "protecting" him (basically confined to his room) so, we "got him into the system" and did everything the psychologist suggested...my wife and oldest daughter had quite a few classes in special education instruction and I was impressed with what they knew and applied in this situation

however, some things he will just not be able to do and wasn't a result of his environment...not being able to "fix" the situation is our only frustration because the guy is a real sweetheart
