So I really only enjoy the show when the interns are in.

If nothing else, it makes it easier for folks like myself who usually have to record and catch up on both R/F and O/A after I get home from work. A few years back it would have been impossible but anymore at least half of both shows are skippable.

I stopped watching during the third season because they were humanizing him too much.

I think they've played Dexter just right, I think the humanizing seasons were probably consistant with the act a real serial killer puts on, and like all serial killers he is starting to decompensate? Is that the right word? Any way, he's getting sloppy and more of a blood lust.

The first season followed the first novel pretty closely, and I thought they did a great job, especially Michael C. Hall.

It got weird after that, because the novels and the series continued the stories independently, like alternate universes. Probably why I lost interest in the series.
