View Full Version : Best Date Ideas?

Okay, here's Christy again with the LOVE stuff again ... yuck, I'm starting to get sick of this myself! LOL

Okay, my idea of a great date is walking around the city on a cold night snuggling { there I go again with the snuggling } up next to that special someone while we talk about nothing and everything. Then, he would get me a Decaf-Venti-Vanilla-Soy-Latte at Starbucks.

Hey, I'm a cheap date! LOL

That's just one of many great date ideas I have ... anyone else have any?

Oh, I got another one ... having him cook for you ... and REAL cooking, not some microwave TV dinner, or mac & cheese!

And then, this is the best part ... have him do the dishes! :-)

That leaves me out, I burn spaghetti. I'm Irish and my mother's cooking philosphy was to boil everything. I was well into my 20's before I realized Ham wasn't supposed to be gray

Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

I think I'd like to stroll about, talking about things big and small. We'd stop at a cafe and I'd get her the biggest latte they had. We'd go back to my place and I'd whip up a nice meal, probably shrimp or orange chicken (unless she's a veg, in which case I try something in an eggplant). I'd ask her to pick some music out from the collection as I did the dishes.

I'd then get the big knife, and cut her throat deeply, lovingly, until the head seperated. A little goodnight kiss follows, I'd put the 'Stubing for the Evening' cap on her, and then off, off into the freezer with the rest of them. After finishing the body in the wood chipper and cleaning up (no small task, but dating is worth it!) I'd turn on MST 3000 until watch until falling asleep.

Fezaesthesia - Prognosis poor...

ok Christy
Here's one that always worked for me. I usualy would take my date to NY for Dessert. (best done in late evening):)
First we would start at Rockefeller Center and then walked up 5th ave taking our time talking and looking at the store windows. On 55th street there use to be a small French restaurant called La Fondue. I would get a table near the window and order the Chocolate Fondue with fresh fruit. They had the best chocolate. The desert would include a glass of champange. To finish we would take a carriage ride along the park.
:) :)

I'm into the simple things, I like going to my favorite spot in the city (The deck outside of the food court in Pier 16 at the South Street Seaport), it has an incredible view of the Brooklyn Bridge and I could just sit there for hours, stairing at the river and talking (and I have). Then I would walk over to Chinatown and go for some really good Dim Sum and dinner, then I would try to find something she has never done in the city so we could share a new experience together.

And as far as cooking goes, I learned how to from my Italian grandfather starting at about the age of 5. We did the weekly big Sunday dinners and I would just stand at his side as he cooked. I always helped him cook up until he stopped about a week before he died when I was 14. That's probably why I like to cook so much, any time I have a pot of sauce going it reminds me a little of him.

Damn Christy...you are getting WAAAAAAAAAAAY too sappy here.....We may have to shoot you ;)

A carrige ride through Central Park sounds cool...I've never done that.

I think the best dates are ones that are unplanned. Last year I met this guy at a Yankee game and we planned to meet but didn't have any idea what to do. So we met at Penn Station and ended up walking down to the Pier and taking a tour of the Intrepid. It was really fun and cool and it was probably the best date I ever had. Too bad the guy turned out to be a psycho, lol

In the summer Bryant Park shows movies on Monday nights, that would be a really cool date!

I start off with a candlelight dinner, probably with french cuisine. Then probably a night of entertainment, a few drinks and then trick my date into an isolated stairwell.

let me know.

Do people even date anymore? I have my doubts. I think now we have long term relationship interviews, some of which only last for one evening.
NO?

Before I got married, my favorite first date place was the Central Park Zoo. It's fun, inexpensive and public.

Also, lots of kids and families are there. How the girl reacted was a good arbiter of whether or not I thought it might work out.

Just remember...

DO NOT SPEND A FORTUNE ON DINNER FOR A FIRST DATE !!!!

Do something a little different.

My perfect date would be on a dinner cruise around New York. Afterwards, we would go out to a blues lounge and have drinks.

I also would love a surprise picnic in Central Park.

Mira, Dinner cruises are cool, but they are only nice during the summer and early fall. And I know that there was actually one that left the South Street Seaport that featured different blues acts. I don't know if they still do them, but I figured I'd give you the heads up.

And I did te surprise picnic thing in central park once in college. My friend owed me $20 bucks and a couple of favors, so I had him set everything up in the park so we could just walk up on it. The girl thought it was sappy. We didn't last much longer after that.

Pool isn't really a date kinda thing I don't think. Going to play pool is something I'll do with a friend, not a date. Besides, the guy would let you win and then what fun would that be?

What if he was very good, would it be better if he won all the time?

I don't believe that would be much fun either...

Actually I went and played pool one night with a guy I used to be friends with and he was way better than me, beat he piss out of me like 7 or 8 times (except for the 2 times he scratched on the 8 ball) but I still had a blast.

Best date ideas? I must say the best dates are the ones in the home. Having a partner make dinner (as stated by many posters before me), or just playing videogames until the wee hours of the morning, have been the best dates for me. The great thing about these type of dates is you really get to focus on each other without the distractions that come with being in public places. Also, should the moment to get intamate arrive, the bed is readily availible. :)

This is America so learn the language! Speak Spanish!

In Summer:

Going to the beach on a hot day... Applying lotion up to the very edge of the forbidden zones... Laying next to each other with heated bodies and tasting the salt of each others sweat as your lips press together...

In Winter,

Just get a Hotel Room LOL Turn the heat up and do the same Damn thing...
Include some ice cubes...
