This technically can go in the forum about computers, but it also fits here. I also apologize in advance if this reads like crap I have written before.

So, does anyone remember when I talked about moving to Florida, wanting to do something in sports? Well, I haven't moved yet b/c not long after that post, I got a g/f, who has since dumped me back in July. But I fractured my shoulder in April, and may need surgery next month, hence why I am still in NY. Now, a few weeks back, I was sitting with family, depressed. I mentioned how sports is my passion and how I like to write. It got me thinking recently.

I want to make a website. A sports website, perhaps about Baseball, since it's my favorite sport. But I have no clue on how to make a site, or anything. I know there are sites, such as InTuit, out there that help you, but I don't know if they're legit. I would want something in the vain of Bleacher Report or Fox Sports, with lots of context, but also with honest writing, interviews, etc. I have tried blogging in the past, but it's too much for 1 man to write about a whole sport. Writing about my favorite teams is tough b/c so many of those blogs exist. Sure, many sites about baseball exist too, but I like the idea of being able to write about free agents, off-season previews, match ups, award winners, prospects and everything else.

I know some will suggest writing classes. But most successful blogs I read are written by people who didn't go to school for writing. I love MetsBlog, but you find tons of writing errors on that site.

I still work at CVS, and still hope to find a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy job soon. But a website dedicated to baseball would be my dream, and passion. When I did that baseball blog a few years back, I got interviews with guys who write for teams in their respective newspapers. I emailed them questions, said who I was, and they responded back. In time, I would like to get credentials to interview players and do reports from parks/stadiums. I am aware that I would need other writers. So, if anyone here would like to help, I'd appreciate it. My idea is to have 1 or 2 writers write about each division. Maybe, over time, have 1 writer for each team. I would want year round coverage and content. Most blogs I read slow down in the off-season, and most websites write the same crap over and over. So, in that respect, I want to offer stuff people won't get any place else.

I honestly feel I will regret it if I never do what I love, which is sports. I know people create sites each day, thinking they will be the next big thing. I know it takes work to garner traffic and advertising. But I know it can be done. Research needs to be done. Over time, I wouldn't be against expanding to other sports. But for now, Baseball is where I want to start. Laugh at me if you wish, but I am serious about this. Besides, so many people on here are from different places, getting word out wouldn't be too hard. If we all lived in NY/NJ, then yeah, it would be a bit difficult.

So, does anyone have any idea what I need to do as far as going about this? Anyone willing to write about certain teams/divisions? Content advice? Any other advice related to what I just wrote?

like you said, there are a TON of sites out there competing for this audience in the same way

my advice would be to find another angle on it, not repeat something that is already being done in fine fashion

Grace under fire, that's what I look for in the young M.D.

No one became sucessful by doing the same thing as everyone else. You need to find some sort of angle that no one else is doing.

Write about the food at each stadium. Do fan on the street interviews. Sport fan fiction! cover the minor leagues only.

You deserve a Flair Chop for saying that. If this is your opinion, then your blog will fail.

C'mon. No blog that anyone has ever written has failed.
