So my brother just bought a record player and I'm thinking for Christmas that I'll get him some really good vinyl records.
What are some good records that sound fantastic on vinyl?
Also is there a good online shop where one can get cheap vinyl records? I don't feel like scouring antique stores for a diamond in the rough.
One I'm thinking about is Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel because of the theme change on each side of the record.
Any others you guys can think of??

The Dark Side of the Moon, if for nothing else than to have a really big version of that iconic cover.

I guess Sgt. Peppers would be good for the cover art as well.

XTC's Skylarking is pretty terrific on vinyl.
Rage Against the Machine's self titled album.

They actually just re-released all the Beatles albums on vinyl, so now's a good time to get those records. As far as just the cover goes, I've always greatly preferred Abbey Road to Sgt. Pepper, which just seems way too busy and dated.

If you're looking to get him records to listen to rather than collect and you're looking for stuff that was pressed in great quantities then check out flea markets, where classic rock is cheap and plentiful.
If you're at a record store the selection will probably be deeper and more organized but you'll also be paying more.
