yeah. i caught up on it with over the weekend with my sister. the cbs version is utterly inferior to the bbc version. we couldnt help comparing the two. sherlock looks homeless at times in the us version.

it's pretty common knowledge in christian circles that new converts will be easily taken in by all the prophecy stuff in the bible, Jack Van Impe makes his living off of them. His show is always prophecy and he sells a lot of books.

I think you misread what he was saying. I agree that people find religion because of loneliness and wanting something bigger than themselves. But as DelV said, people who are new to the Bible are more easily convinced about "Biblical" ideas because they assume that others know more. People who pray on innocents are the worst, and new converts are like innocents in some ways.

what I saw back in my church days was their new faith made them find a quick interest in the magic thinking of prophecy, and people like Van Impe constantly pulling random verses out of context and comparing them to news stories to prove their points can be pretty convincing. But you're right, it was a broad statement, I should have said it was that way in the circles I use to be involved in.
