I woulda thought somebody would have started this already. Anyhoo, this thing is pretty fucking good, enjoyed the Roger Waters stuff, especially the stuff from the Wall, and Adam Sandler can still be funny, when he's not playing his own sister in that shitty movie, I think it was called "Jethro and Jethreen"

Chelsea Clinton has gone through a weird transformation. From an awkward, ugly teen to a pretty damn hot young woman to now as she is slowly turning into her mom.

Actually, I guess you could say that about a lot of women.

I think the most profound moments of the night were the 75th time Alicia Keys said "whoa whoa whoa" and the 19th time she asked everyone to get their cell phones out.

God that was like someone took a steaming shit on stage in the middle of the show.

Not to be the cynic here, but no one actually believes these celebs are doing this fully b/c they care, right? It's at least half b/c of ego and PR. "Hey, do this show. It'll make ya look good!".

I'd agree if this was a much younger group of celebs, but most of these guys have looked as good as they can long ago and still sell out arenas. So I don't think it's about ego's, those have been stroked a plenty.

Yeah, just because these people are famous and successful doesn't mean they are completely fame obsessed. Most of these celebrities have a history of helping out too. And deliciousv said, I don't think Springsteen or the Stones or The Who need to put themselves out there at all to continue to be successful.

And besides that, I don't care about their motives. Whatever their reason they are there and this seems like it is a huge success from all the internet reaction tonight. They are doing good and trying to tear them down because you think their motives are not pure always strikes me as coming from a dark place. I don't know why when people do good there will always be someone pop up and say "They are only doing this because blah blah blah."

I guess I feel slighted b/c I have barely heard of LI since the hurricane happened. I was at work tonight, so I don't know if it was mentioned tonight, but that TV special a few weeks back, it was 75% NJ, and the rest Queens. If you lived outside of LI, you would never have known we were hit hard. Long Beach is gone, as are other places. Yet, all I hear is "omg, the Jersey shore!". Though, I am sure if the Hamptons got destroyed, we'd never hear the end of it.

I know a handful of Nirvana songs. That one, I have no idea what it was. Sir Paul let me down tonight a bit. Maybe b/c I am too young. I knew 3 songs "Live and Let Die", "Blackbird" and "Helter Skelter", and I loved those. The rest, were obscure to me.

I liked the concert but a few things: 1) I felt Kanye went on for too long. Could be that I'm not a big fan of him. 2) I would have prefered Helter Skelter to be played with the fellas from Nirvana. 3) I thought the overall set list for McCartney wasn't very good.

But I was really impressed with Springsteen and Jovi. I'm not all that into their stuff but I thought they were the best of the night. They knew how to work the crowd and the crowd ate it up.

And also, I picked up the Nirvana "MTV Unplugged" CD a few years ago and it's just such a great piece of music.

And oh, I didn't bring up my comments about Radiohead because I was very wrong with hating them. Again, not one of my favorite bands, but they have put out some amazing music.

In a pre show interview, little Steven was patting himself and everyone on the back. -The music industry is dying, but we're still the one's who always do these things to raise money and help people, not the oil companies.- (paraphrased)

Well, no shit. If Exxon put their hand out asking people to donate for this relief effort, people would tell them to fuck off. Does Steven even get how/why a benefit works?

Did anyone up there realize that Katrina hit any place other than New Orleans?

New Orleans got a lot of rain, and a little wind (comparatively). If the levees had held, they would have come through just fine. Everything to the east was completely leveled all the way to here (bama coast).

People in So. Miss. were affected far worse, and screaming for aid, but most was going over to Louisiana.

The company I was working for organized a couple of relief shipments to and kicked in some cash for the people in Waveland, MS. So there. Although, to be fair, we didn't care much about the people in Mobile. *

Thank you for your support.

Yes, Felix's was back up and going very soon after power was restored, and the causeway was re-opened. Most of the "new" places (post hurricane Frederick, 1979) were built on pilings, 16 feet up, and can survive most tidal surges.

The few structures left still on ground level near water were wiped out the year before when Hurricane Ivan hit.

Felix's is actually located at the north end of Mobile Bay. The Gulf is farther to the south.

Mobile was just far enough to the east of the eye that it was around Cat 1 force winds, and not nearly the storm surge that hit the Miss coast.
