NYC has a station that finally plays moderate rock music again

and more. Its kinda like the old jack FM but with more classic and 90s rock plus modern stuff like mumford, black keys and such. Its been pretty decent so far. I hope people listen. The last decent newer than 1990 music station that played rock got cancelled.

Definitely White Plains. It's actually now that I look into it been around since 2004. It can't be doing bad at all.

It's probably has a set list like every other station. To be honest though I haven't listened to it enough to know what specific shows are on there.

I do know they play the House of Blues with Dan Akroyd as Elwood.

it wsa modern rock as RXP for like 3 years. They flipped it to like a 92.3 now kinda BS format. It went back to the rock thing only as a fill when FAN bought the station permit and had to fill time before the change over

the station that was on 101.9 was some awful FM news version of 1010 wins. when FAN bought the call letters, they pulled the station and moved it to some other numbers they owned the license on. So it woulda been dead air until WFAN officially got all the paperwork and transfer and legal shit done

edit: not to contradict my prior post. It went from RXP to a NOW kinda station. That failed and it was changed to FM talk at some point later before being put as a rock filler station til WFAN moved over

they gave the now thing about 3 weeks, so maybe that was just filler til they made the move to news shit. It was news shit for awhile. WFAN bought the permit specifically to move to FM cause ESPN has been kickin their ass ever since they moved to FM. I guess they just put rock on to pass time without ever planning to see if it would work

ESPN radios ratings tripled in the first month they were on FM. Just the fact more people are listening to accidentally find it. Thats what the whole point of it was anyway

i pick Kay show over blowhard fancessa. Everything else on the FAN (except Somers) is better. But that wasnt the point. Just going to FM put the total rating of the station over WFAN. Now that WFAN is on FM too, its gone back more in line with how it was before

Steve Somers is the biggest hack fraud ever. I used to listen to his show and here him do a monologue word for word off a parody site I had read earlier that day. He is a fuckin fraud.

And boomer and carton fuckin suck, but so do Mike and Mike.

Spoon I know like ESPN radio cause his favorite person ever, Stephen A Smith, has a show where he mostly talks about basketball. Spoon cant get enough

It doesn't even matter WHAT he talks about, it's his style and bullshit I hate. The guy simply blows.

Mike and mike are atrocious too...with their commercial sign offs (call letter/show mention cutsie shit they team up with) and so much more of "Greenie" drives me nuts. I'd like to have Golic and Boomer team up and Carton/Greenie suck together. The only one I actually like is Boomer, but at time Golic is tolerable. I'm mostly O/A in the morning anyway...but during the breaks I check the sports channels for a little.
