it happens with airline crashes too...people want it to be "pilot error" because then they can simply say the pilots need more training and it won't happen to ME

luckily, we analyze the crash to find the root cause, what caused the pilot to make the error...THEN we can address the real problem with technology or training specific to the root cause

I believe the root cause for these gun tragedies will probably require a very long solution...Americans don't wait for anything, so the solution may not be attainable

and requiring military service before gun ownership is stupid...these are NOT accidental discharges that we are trying to address (and Kent State mass shooting was by a very well trained marine)
