Although Disney and Lucasfilm are mum, multiple sources are confirming Star Trek director — and lifelong Star Wars fan — J.J. Abrams will in fact be directing Star Wars: Episode VII.

Don't know how to feel about this.

Even in his Star Trek movie commentary track, he talked too much about Star Wars. Ultimately I think this is a good thing for the Star Wars franchise, a fanboy with talent directing. But let's be honest, Lucas is going to have his hands all over the script as writer or executive consultant or something. There is still potential for disaster.

This doesn't look good for the Star Trek franchise either. Abrams won't be doing the next Star Trek film if he's tied-up with this. Nor will be probably want to do yet another space film anyway.
