Phil Mickelson is at 24 under par, a total score of 189, through 3 rounds of the Waste Management Phoenix Open (nice name for a tournament, by the way). It's equal to that event's record through 54 holes, and one shy of the all time PGA record for lowest score through 54 holes.

So if he shoots a 64 tomorrow -- and he damn near shot a 59 on Thursday -- he will break the record for all time lowest score in a PGA event.

im guessing you dont know how it works. If you are playing too slow, you get put on the clock, giving you 40 seconds to hit the ball after you address it. After they put the kid on the clock, he went over 40 seconds by at least 20 seconds 3 times before they gave him the penalty. They even went to his dad first and asked him to tell the kid so he WOULDNT get a penalty. It wasnt dick at all.

Speaking of penalties, Tiger Woods is now -1 instead of -3. They assessed him a 2 shot penalty for improper drop after that ball hit the flag and went into the water. Some viewer called it and said he didnt stay exactly in line with where the ball crossed the hazard, so they gave him a 2 shot penalty over night. They are sayin he is so pissed off he may withdraw before he starts today

in fairness, the guy he paired with is like 70 and probably should have been put on the clock himself. But there was a big difference. the avg time for a round for the guys who played in front of Guan was 4 hours, 42 min, which is 12 min longer than it should be. The avg round for guys AFTER guan was 5 hours, 54 minutes. So obviously, his group was REALLY holding things up.


As for Tiger, its tough. He wasnt DQed for signing an incorrect scorecard because they told him his card was right when he signed it. They only assessed it after, so he just loses 2 shots, but he gets to keep playing.

But it wasnt a wrong call, he didnt play it where he should have. it was a penalty.

When you hit into the type of hazard he hit into, you have to keep the spot the ball last crossed the hazard in between yourself and the hole, unless you go to the designated drop area. Tiger did neither, and therefore, should be assessed a penalty. But he didnt know he did that. He stayed on the line the ball crossed the hazard after he hit it, but the last time it actually crossed was after it bounced off the flag, which was about 10 yards left of where he dropped. That was the issue

Sergio is hated more because of things early in his career he said about fans. It started at the first US Open in Bethpage, so i think like 2002 or 2003. Back then Sergio was still doing his endless club waggling and just moping around like a douche. Some fans started to heckle him and at one point, they were yelling out, in Spanish, counting the number of times he would be waggling his club. So after one of the rounds, he flips out, starts callin all the people animals, sayin how the USGA never woulda let it continue if it was Tiger they were yellin at, all this other fag stuff. So that started it.
Then, since then, Sergio has not exactly carried himself very weel. Things like this:
