An album to look forward to, the sophmore effort from Philadelphia's own by way of Brooklyn by way of Alabama Waxahatchee, aka Katie Crutchfield. Her first album was just her on guitar and it was a really thin, tinny recording. I get why it was recorded the way it was, but it really made the album hard to listen to. Now, she's added other instrument tracks and a fuller sound, which should serve her songwriting even better. It's looking like you're probably going to hear about the Crutchfield sisters this year because it's a pretty good story, they're touring nationally, and both groups are getting attention from the larger internet media outlets. Two sisters from Alabama come out of the tiny Birmingham scene with a beloved band, break it up, move north, and start their own equally well received projects plus inumerable collaborations.

Oh, and if you want to talk abuot connections. Katie Crutchfield has Rilo Kiley and Hop Along tattoos, she was in The Ackleys and PS Eliot with her sister Alison, Alison is in Swearin, which toured with Japandroids and Sourpatch. And you've seen all these bands in the thread.

my doc wants me to get to 200, started at 238 in Nov. down to 212 now. Went strict low carb, bacon, sausage, eggs, cheese, ect ect. my cholesterol was 96 as of a week ago. I drink all the low carb beer I want, and of course bourbon.

If I was heading out for fast food I'd get a Hardees low carb double thick burger.

Ok, I just watched the video.

They're drafting legislation in Raleigh NC to make lottery ticket sellers refuse to sell to people on welfare or in bankruptcy, meaning they have to ask the person if they're either of those things. It's not in New york and there's no mention of using your food stamps or EBT card to but tickets, the report makes it sound like they're going to refuse cash. Also, this will never get anywhere, it's just republicans who want to say they're tough on those shiftless poor people.
