I just think this high road is misplaced, they love gossip on this show. The guy who called in fucked up by saying it changed his view of Marino, he should've just said "hey, gossip." The kid out of wedlock isn't a big deal at all but neither is being interested in it.

Ron sure was nice to the guy in the Break His Camera documentary who spent so much time following Jackie Kennedy Onassis around. Didn't yell at that guy for basically stalking her and selling pictures of her children to tabloids.

People in philly didn't exactly forget. I know really die hard eagles fans who stopped watching. I was willing to say "he did his time, he seems sorry, ok lets try this." But I always thought he was a scummy dude when he was in Atlanta, and in Philly I was just pissed he was too short and left handed.

Here's what it is. The sense of community that existed in the country has solwly eroded since the turn of the last century. Mass communication plus global events like wars, depressions, assassinations, etc make you realize that your community boundaries are more or less made up. Then great disillusioning events like soldiers returning from WW2 to a version of the american dream that isn't so fulfilling, and the civil rights movement really alienate people. So by the time we get to the late 60s and 70s the individual has completely supplanted the community. The personal acheivment philosophy of the 80s crystalizes wealth as the new measurement of success and happiness. Meanwhile these me generation people start having kids and never think to raise them believing they can acheive macro goals, everyone is tailored to achieve micro goals. And here we are.

It's different, doesn't make it better or worse. This world is not that world so this worlds solutions aren't that worlds solutions.

Fez wants to live a mainstream life as a part of the gay community. In a sense, he is like Todd Glass. The problem is that he wants to have a relationship with an young guy who is good-looking, out-of-the-closet, masculine, and interested in an older guy who has no interests, can't get hard, is profoundly phobic.
