gonna check out early as Fez does his irrational Fez character...please let me know when they leave this topic
also, how do you shoot someone four times in the dark...shots 3 and 4 had to be close enough to see who it was since the body would not be in the same position after taking the first two shots

02-14-2013, 09:10 AM
The problem with these lists are 'success' is so poorly defined. You cant look someone in the eye and say The Replacements weren't big just because they weren't on MTV. They have a really strong influence and if they chose could tour forever and live as professional musicians. That's pretty dern successful.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rOGv8U3bNc0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Chigworthy
02-14-2013, 09:14 AM
Is it good indie pop? Yes, of course. But there's no genius in 99% of band/musicians. We don't need to have genius musicians, they can make great music without being elevated to superheroes. I don't know if there is a single rock musician that should be considered genius; it's not a genre that needs or fosters genius. It's ok.

Beat Happening (and K Records) also didn't get the due they deserved. One of the prime movers that resulted in the pacific northwest music scene. K Records would later be the lynchpin of 'anti folk' which I know sounds like dogshit to you people but you wouldn't be listening to mumford and sons, the avett brothers or bon iver without it.

Everytime he says Jeselneck I think of Mr Jellyneck from Strangers with Candy.
The Ergs, underappreciated by indie rock dudes that dont like pop punk. Mikey Erg is a really fantastic songwriter who did a lot with melody.

one of my favorite radio moments was ron b. would go on the hooters on the radio show alot and do a bunch of characters(you've heard of iris) and one was the lead singer of STRANGER,well one day he's doing his character and the real lead singer called in and started asking him questions, ron had his voice down so pat that it was hard to tell the two apart and it was fucking hysterical
No I didnt know iris was him little before when I got on board

It's part of this thing where we have to put artists on a pedestal for some reason. Like hearing an actor talk about the "on set experience". FUck off and make your art, then fuck off and shut the fuck up so I can enjoy it.
