Here's the thing, Prince played for 3 hours to a show they didn't sell tickets for and it grabs all the headlines. It's a legit gripe that for years and years it's a festival run independently and in the last 5 years money comes in and freezes out all the people that brought the audience there.


And there are a ton of other festivals going on and barely any of them get any press.

I meant in general. I could certainly see how people wouldn't like her, but imagine people who were like "what's the big deal" and then went out and read a bunch of negative stuff about her. I dont think she really stood a chance based on the hype and temperment of 'taste makers' at that point. She went on Jules Holland the next week and did very well.

In my opinion LDR is doing a high concept thing with her career- it's a whole character and she says stuff and performs music that supports the character. For some reason that really pissed off bloggers, because I think it put them in a position where they had to make a judgment and could be caught out on that judgment. They hate her because she didn't make it really easy for them by saying "yes, I'm being ironic with this, to make a point." Most of the stories you read about her are about her having plastic surgery or how her dad is rich and how they didn't want it to get out that she had a pre LDR album out.

And the media is demanding you form an opinion on it, because it's the hot topic, and they dont give you the opportunity to think about it and form a natural opinion.

DS I'm sure formed a natural opinion because he isn't all plugged into it, but I mean people that download shit off of itunes and are inclined to read about who the 'next hot thing' is.
