Ron couldn't be less interested in 'having a conversation' about this. He wants to hear that people agree with him and doesn't want to offer any other solution for the problem. It's frustrating and accusatory.
LeedsJr
04-23-2013, 07:31 AM
While I agree with Ron's point, he is skirting closer and closer to dickishness again with lines like, "I don't want to take away anybody in Boston's happiness in catching that 19 year old kid."
You mean the guy that set off a bomb in a crowd, killing 3 and injuring hundreds, then murdered one cop and engaged in a shoot out and threw bombs at a bunch of other cops?

Ron is spitting a tremendous amount of rhetoric in regards to this, and in such a passive aggressive, snotty way. I can respect a persons concern over allowing the police to operate in a crisis situation that basically has no precident, and I totally agree that we were underprepared and need to do better planning for the future. We need to clearly define what is effective and allowed. But I dont find myself having to mock out anyone who is relieved that the situation is over, or use the power of hind sight to pull a morality trip on someone.
Never mind that all the stuff that Ron is concern trolling about hasn't happened. Like the cops didn't arrest people for having weed when they came into houses searching for the guy, and they haven't continued to go into houses without warrants.
It's a really, really ugly side to this argument and it completely prevents the conversation you claim you want to have by villianizing people operating in a crisis situation.

We're talking about the 'slippery slope' which only exists when it's about stuff you dont like, such as cops, but not stuff you do like, such as drugs and gay marriage.

I was throwing m-80s at stray cats in the alleyway and what was up with the stray cats anyway with those greaser haircuts. Now Grease was a great movie, I always thought Olivia Newton John was so sexy and fig newtons were great I used to have them all the time after school. And kids today dont even know what school house rock was when it taught us all about politics, and grammer, and numbers. But my toes are numb now because of diabetes and they would never put the belt on Ted DiBiase and Virgil Solottzo tried to talk Sonny into dealing drugs in The Godfather, which in the 70s we really had all the good movies and the good books and the good TV and New York was dirty and all the sports teams won but the jets are ready to bounce back from Tebow-gate...

HAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA..........that right there is the post of the day.

The story was fine and all, but the way he just launched into it with Ron sighing audibly in the background was... odd.

Fez must have been reminded he is contractually obligated to contribute five minutes a day of entertainment or no more $$$? Well done Rob Cross! Everything is all better now.

Ron carries Fez around in his pocket, like so many nickels and dimes.

Did one of Ron's experiments go awry and we wound up with a Blowhard/Fez hybrid?

Fez basically did the same thing that Jessica Simpson's sister did on SNL.
I can't believe that Allan Arbus (who played MAJ Sidney Freeman on M*A*S*H*), who they mentioned had just died, was 95. He was only 3 years younger than Harry Morgan who played COL Potter!

And he was married to Diane Arbus. And you always knew you weren't getting a funny Hawkeye episode when Sidney was in town.

There were a couple: the one with the "conference" (poker game), the one where he shouted "air raid" to get Frank to jump into his water-filled foxhole...

Fezzie is the Garrison Keillor of the Ron and Fez show. (Sorry, listening late) His wrestling story came out of nowhere, and kind of peters out.

People throwing stones at big pappi's glass house.
Don't know if anyone will even get that one anymore.
I was reading back to find out the reaction to today's show (first one I can remember actually shutting off) and this made me laugh.

Nah, he just did the voice to demonstrate how he would confuse guests with a terrible DJ voice.
