You really have to feel sorry for retail managers. They have to take all the shit from customers and cover all the shit their employees give them, meanwhile their regional managers are both cutting their resources to the bare minimum but also yelling at them to hit completely arbitrary sales goals. You get all the stress and make shit money with shit benefits. And there are so few jobs at the next level you really have no choice but to put up with it or languish forever without advancing.


The first store I ever worked in we missed our sales goal by like 95% one day because the same day the year before the first Old Navy in the area opened literally across the aisle, and my boss still got yelled at for it.
