I'm curious, are you guys at all distracted by the "verbal crutches" of the R&F show?
This isn't to say that I'm ANNOYED by the constant recurring phrases, but I am certainly drawn to them. Distracted.
Molly says "oh my god" constantly. Once every three or four minutes. She said it at least three times just while "Satellite" was playing.
9 out of 10 times... she's laughing while she says it. Almost like she's swallowing the words.
Hicks' uses "what the fuck?!" constantly. I LOVE IT. I think it's hilarious. But it is certainly a crutch for him.
Fez has "... at this point". Or "... at that point". (as in; "nobody was still watching that show by that point.")
Ron has a few. Some of them come and go. (like "mythology" and "methodology"... which he has recently abandoned)
Some are here to stay.
You can always tell when Ron is telling the truth when he throws the word "right?" towards the beginning of the story. Example... if they were talking about guys who are disfigured, Ron will say "I went to school with this kid,... right? And he had a club foot..." or whatever. Those stories are usually, but not always, followed with "I'm not even making that up!"
Do you guys fixate/notice those recurring words and phrases?

Basically.
I think they are amazing and phenomenal.
I'm sorry -- that's all I've got.

I have been distracted by Ron's recent use of the new national crutch, finishing a sentence with "blah blah blah".
And Hicks referring to pretty much every person ever mentioned on the show as either :the shit" or "the man", everybody can't be those things, it takes away from those of those who are.
(first person who responds "oh blah blah blah" is a predictable hack)

Whenever they go to Fezzie, he starts off with a big, "Uummm."

Yep. I'm sure he's not aware of it, but I notice it every time.
I still love him to pieces, though, and always hold out hope that the Fezzie we know and love will find his way back. (Sorry, mushy moment--won't let it happen too often.)

Yeah. Fezzie's use of "ummm" and "ahh" at the beginning of each phrase is very distracting. Annoying even.
A few months ago, Fez wasn't there for a few days. They were playing pre-recorded reads. Ron insisted that Fez WAS there, but it was obvious from the lack of "ummms" that the reads were pre-recorded and edited.

I wish Ron would just ignore Fez. Send him home early.
I know Ron gets very upset splitting a paycheck with Fez.
But its Ron's fault, "don't want to break up the brand".
Fez should have been let go years ago.
But a part of ron loves to tease fez. So whatever.
Nothing will ever change on ron and fez , until well you know ....there are only so many time someone can go through...you know..... (heart problems).
Sorry.

Not a phase, but Ron is always busting Pepper's balls about slurring. Ron fucks up ALL THE TIME, but none of them will call him on it.
He is doing 90% of the talking mind you so its understandable, I just wish someone (Chris mainly) would call Ron on his slurred / mispronounced words once in a while.

You all still listen to the show? Aside dfrom Ron and Fez, I have no idea who the other people you all mention are.

If you are serious, how long has it been since you've listened? Pepper Hicks is the producer, and Molly is an intern.

Hmmm....then I'm torn between advising you to listen online with a free week's subscription, and letting you keep your vision of the awesomness that they used to be intact. The show is very different than it used to be.

Def different, in many ways worse, but still worth the listen. I think if Dave could become a full time on air personality and Fez would even TRY to a participate even a tiny bit it would be gold again.

I love the show!
I think it's totally worth listening to nowadays. Dare I say... it's not-to-be-missed.
Ron still pumps out amazing quips & thoughtful insight. Hicks is the shit. Molly is great. Shelby is funny as fuck.
Yeah... Fez kinda stinks up the joint. But... he's still loveable, he's just... annoying.
If you're not listening, you're missing out.

Totally agree, but it would be a shock to someone who hadn't listened for years to tune in now. I still listen almost everyday--much more once school is back in session.

Fezzie has been saying UMM for over 13 years, since I started listening. It's what makes Fezzie Low,Fez
