Ok, I know we have way less people that we used to, so it might not rack up the votes, but fuck it.
Lets say you are a pro prospect in baseball. You are a fringe prospect, and not really in line to ever do more than make a few hundred grand as a bench guy. Would you take steroids? No guarantee its gonna work. Act like this is real life. You know what it COULD do for you. And you know what COULD happen if you get caught (which still could pay you more than you woulda made without it: see: Cabrera, Melky). Would you take substances to potentially enhance your performance?

5th option... Yes, because it's something prescribed to humans and animals everyday.

well, if you are prescribed them for a medical condition, you can get a therapeutic use exemption from baseball and actually be allowed to take them already. Thats why I left it off as an option.
Little known fact. Lionel Messi has a therapeutic use exemption to take testosterone because his body doesnt naturally produce as much as it should. Which is probably why he is so short

And limited bc of their side effects and wear on the body unless the benefits outweigh the risks. And i am sure most of what u THINK are peds are not the same.

I'd take the few hundred grand and be a bench guy my whole career. I'd still be better off than 80% of the world, and wouldn't be worn out at retirement. Of course, I've never felt the need to be famous, I'm not very competitive either, so you'd have to take that into account.

Yes, as long as I don't need a needle. I hate needles. If I can just eat a pill, I'm in.

I don't think I would personally, but this whole thing is a mess because people don't understand exactly what steroids "do". You don't shoot up and then just start growing muscles. They help you to recover faster so you can work out more and/or recover from injuries. I just don't get how it's okay to shoot up athletes with cortisone, which is not only a steroid, but probably the most dangerous steroid there is, but it's not okay to take something like HGH if you blow out your elbow.

I voted no in that position. In my mind you're risking more than you stand to gain. If you have a mediocre baseball career I'd think you're far more likely to derive a living from some sort of coaching or administrative position from competitive high schools on up through the majors than actually breaking through as a position player and pulling a decent career out of your ass. I have to imagine that getting popped with a PED suspension would follow you around, especially at those lower levels.

Again, a "localized inflammatory" that's also a steroid, helps you recover from injuries and is really dangerous. Don't see a difference between something like that and Winstrol or whatever.

For the record, doctors and scientists have yet to find anything harmful about taking HGH. I remember reading an SI article where many doctors were fighting with the FDA because they wanted to prescribe it to patients over 40 to improve their quality of life but couldnt because they feared if they allowed it for medical use, athletes at all levels would try to get it. Personally, when I get older if Im not feeling great physically, I plan on trying that.
For the record, I wasnt a juicehead. I did a 12 week cycle of test injections stacked with a 6 week cycle of Winstrol V pills one spring. And I made sure I had been going to the gym 5 days a week for a year before starting them. Before that I had taken androstendione before MLB got it taken off the market. They really are amazing. No soreness and it feels like theres no weight on the bar at all. Like anything else if taken in moderation, steroids could do alot more good than harm. But nobody does anything in moderation anymore.

wow TS, not even close to true...ever
and this is just from an ok website that is respected...try talking to experts, not those wanting a cheat mode for whatever sport, dress or bsuit they are about to wear.
HGH can also increase the risk of diabetes and contribute to the growth of cancerous tumors. (http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/human-growth-hormone-hgh)
