And I ask, why not? Oh that pervasive New York Media Bias.

Being born/bred in ny it's natural for her to be supportive of ny. It's not like she's living in the Midwest saying ny needs to stay great.

She has a valid point and I'm not against anyone in any city making that city more affordable, and Patti Smith was from North Jersey so it also makes sense for Smith to wind up making art in New York, but there's definitely a dig there about you couldn't possibly stand taking cultural instruction from Tampa. I'm biased in how I'm reading it, but there is an ontology there.

But also: Admired by members of the French New Wave and Cahiers Du Cinema, Corman was the youngest filmmaker to have a retrospective at the Cinémathèque Française,[4] as well as the British Film Institute and the Museum of Modern Art. In 2009, he was awarded an Honorary Academy Award.
Corman mentored and gave a start to many young film directors such as Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese and Peter Bogdanovich.[5] He helped launch the careers of actor Peter Fonda.[5]
I would also add Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper.
Also- In 1970, Corman founded New World Pictures which became a small independently owned production/distribution studio,[15] making many cult films such as Women in Cages (1971), Death Race 2000 (1975), Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979), Galaxy of Terror (1981), Children of the Corn (1984), and the Joe Dante film Piranha (1978).[16] Corman's distribution side of New World brought many foreign films to mass audiences in the United States for the first time, including the works of Ingmar Bergman, François Truffaut, Federico Fellini, and Akira Kurosawa. In a ten-year period, New World Pictures won more Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film than all other studios combined

I'm just saying it's short sighted to not even have him on the list considering his contributions. There was some dogshit on that list. He was arguably an influence on everyone on that list especially the 70s and 90s guys who were all in love with the movies he made it possible for them to see.

Reductio ad absurdum. The whole point is that she's NOT a great actress, but people still love her because the one has jack shit to do with the other.
Just because jack loves roger for giving him a chance, obviously doesn't make roger great at his craft. He loves him for something other than being great at his craft (like people loving MT for something other than her acting chops).

I hate this song so much. They play it twice an hour on my ALTERNATIVE station. That's not alternative!!!:furious: I listen to that station to get away from crap like Daft Punk! End rant.

You and sailor can just hush up with your trying to start fights. Misti and I don't have to like the same music to be friends. Variety is the spice of life.

I just dont care for Spike Jonze.
I appreciate anyone of originality. He has proven his creativity but he is not at the top of my list but shows potential to move up.

Both songs are fun, but get lucky us obviously the better one.
I would have agreed until Daft Punk stood up Colbert and Robin Thicke came in last minute & saved the day. Loyalty and naked supermodels win the race.

Fez already has enough money to do whatever he wants and chooses to be a bore. I can't see $30 million making a difference.

They signed to play a Colbert thing and then also signed to do the MTV VMA's which carried a no compete that made them have to quit the Colbert thing. Colbert blasted MTV and Viacom on his show because the VMAs are a month after the Colbert thing. Daft Punk was not taking any heat off of it because supposedly they were unaware of the no compete, which the president of MTV refused to waive when contacted by Colbert.
