Spoon really needed a super hero whose super power is adding "boring" to peoples names, and the only person with that power takes a vacation. It was a sad day.

Ron needs to consider that the reference point for 'cool' isn't what he thinks it is anymore. Even when he says "a show for adults" what he really means is a show for grandparents, the cultural reference points are that far removed. Miles Davis is The Birth of Cool to Ron, but he's talking to people who heard about Miles Davis from Bill Cosby or people who have no idea who Miles Davis is.


Period shows are expensive to make.

I knew a kid who worked as a clown at parties doing magic tricks. I asked him what the deal was and he said it's all in the props so you dont have to know how to do the tricks at all, you just operate the props.

I would've been so pissed to get a magic clown for a birthday party and get such half assery.
