Didn't find a thread for htis show so I made it.

Anybody watching ?

I had been recording them all season and finally started watching yesterday.

I was originally holding off because I didn't know what to expect.

It looked verry Soparanos-ish and I didn't know if I wanted to watch that again.

But now that I'm watching I dig it.

There the " family turmoil " moments but I do think they are necessary to build the characters.

Casting is good and Jon Voight is so annoying which I guess is also a good trait for a character that you're supposed to despise.

Liev Schriber ( sp ?? ) is good in almost everything and doesn't disappoint in this role.

Show seems good in that the weekly plots can go anywhere which leaves them a lot of flexibililty and allows for mutliple seasons.

In short I think the show could be consider as Ari Gold meats Tony Soprano ( to a point ).

What I like about Liev's character is he's not actually a " mob " guy. That role/character has become very boring to me.

Ive been watching. I really like it. Jon Voights plays an asshiole to a whole new degree. And the image of him fucking is going to give me nightmares forever. The wife is the typical ungrateful twat that seems to think all her money falls from the sky because she has no idea what her husband does for a living. Thats so annoying. Elliot Gould is fantastic.

Also, did you realize his main henchman Avi is Manny from Scarface? I didnt even recognize him.

I thought Ron recently had him on talking about his hits from the 1960s.

I knew him as a character actor and then remembered him from Scarface.

I saw him in an episode of Burn Notice recently ( last few years ).

For a dude that looks so ethnic he's got a very Anglo name.

Steven Bauer.

Could be a stage name.

Oh and exactly what you said about the wife.

But I did like how she had a change of heart after giving away the suits.

Hes a really cool guy. I met him when I was living outside of Miami. He had been sitting at my bar with 2 smoking hot chicks and when I got cut he invited me to hang out and drink with them. At one point he called Al Pacino on the phone just to prove he had his number and was yelling at him to come out and have a drink with us. Fucking hilarious. For the record, both chicks went home with him while I went home alone. :(

He was in breaking bad also.

The Mexican drug lord who kills the guy in front of Gus.

I had a problem w/ the episode when they drug Miller.

He's obsessed, seemingly, with this case and he doesn't recognize Ray's henchman sitting right next to him in the diner ?

Then the drugging issue was wierd.

Why wouldn't he, after getting threatened, just go to his superiors and say he was drugged and blackmailed ?

He'd get Ray put away immediately.

I know it's a show but those were the 1st few parts that didn't sit well with me.

By the way I think the kid killed his own mother.

Probably went there and was pissed that she gave him up and things got out of hand.

But how great were those tripping scenes???? I was dying.

I really hate Ellit Gould's mistress.

I don't know if I've seen her in other things and carried over my dislike but she's bothered me from the 1st episode.

I'm pretty sure she's been in every one.

She was drunk at the dedication of his wife's hospital wing.

Remember she was saying bad things about her ?

She was recently in the episode w/ Ray's wife when she gets arrested for stealing the shoes.

Very lame season finale.

In the prior 2 episodes they did a good job of humanizing Ray and stripping him of his comfort zone and then they laid an egg w/ this last one.

Not sure where they'll go next season.

I doubt they loosen the tension between Ray and Mickey.

I didn't hate it, they solved some problems and left some tension, fair enough.
But I was a bit annoyed by this good Southie Irish clans willingness to switch between Jamisons and Bushmills, I mean, pick a side Catholic or Protestant.
