One of my favorite things is waking up on Saturday morning to College Gameday! Finally, Saturday's mean something again to me!
Va Tech vs. Alabama - line is 21 but even though I went to Va Tech I think they lose by 28.

watching the OSU game I'm just gonna say it, I don't like a woman announcer on a football game. It doesn't bother me in sports that are actually play at a high level by women, but it just doesn't work for me in football.

they got the ball down to the 25 with 13 secs and 2 TOs left in regulation, 44-44. Instead of callin a timeout and tryin to get a few more yards or center it, they let it run to 3 and called timeout and then tried a 43 yarder at the horn. Missed. Then they went for 2 instead of the tie first OT and ran the dumbest fuckin play ever

ESPN ran a Manziel promo while i was in the barbershop. It was pretty decent. Basically saying the kid isnt tim tebow. And should anyone even care if he sold his autograph. I enjoyed it. Personally i dont give a fuck as Urban Meyer clearly swept a Aaron Hernandez drive by under the rug.

i didnt because you just scored in 3 plays. They werent stopping anything, and it woulda flipped so rutgers woulda got the ball right back. You get it back, then score some points and make fresno have to go win it. If we didnt get the ball back after, then maybe I would say ok.
My biggest issue is, you come out for 2. Then you set the ball up all the way on the left hash so that the ENTIRE fuckin world knows the play is going right. Then you run a fuckin boot rollout from the 3 yard line? What a shock it was to see nova tryin to throw to one of the 3 red shirts inside NINE white ones. They didnt even come after nova cause they KNEW what was happening.
And, like I said, it never even shoulda got to OT.

Yeah the actual play call sucked. There were at least 3 guys draped on that receiver

From what i read Bellichek told him to get a safehouse. Supposedly because Hernandez thought everyone was trying to kill him. I think its in that Rolling Stone article

i know you arent supposed to read too much into the first game, but this was really sad. Seeing them keep throwing screens to the WRs and 2 yard hooks and watching our coach NEVER have the DBs play within 9 yards of the guys was just pathetic. it does not excite me for the rest of the season.
That said, I did see alot from alot of really young guys. they have a ton of talent on the team and maybe the move into the big ten wont be as tough as most people think

Snoogans, you catch any of your old buddy Savage playing for Pitt last night?
Another new team, same ol Tom.
Fuckin Jameis Winston is for real. AU fans were screaming to get this kid out of HS, and I see why.
Had a pretty good clue when he won the "MVP" at the Elite 11 camp, but still, some thought he'd be playing pro baseball by now. Hope AU can get similar play from Sean White in a couple of years.
Previous Elite 11 MVP winners:
2001: Ben Olson (UCLA)
2002: Kyle Wright (Miami)
2003: Rhett Bomar (Oklahoma/Sam Houston St.)
2004: Mark Sanchez (USC)
2005: Matthew Stafford (UGA)
2006: John Brantley (Florida)
2007: Blaine Gabbert (Missouri)
2008: Aaron Murray (Georgia)
2009: Jake Heaps (BYU)
2010: Jeff Driskel (Florida)
2011: Jameis Winston (FSU), Neal Burcham (SMU), Tanner Mangum (BYU)
2012: Asiantii Woulard (UCLA)
2013: Sean White (Auburn)

And in case you missed it... there were 7 FCS schools who got paid good money to come onto an FBS school campus, and pull the upset:
Eastern Washington (FCS) 49 - #25 Oregon State (FBS) 45
North Dakota State (FCS) 24 - Kansas State (FBS, defending co-Big 12 champion) 21
McNeese State (FCS) 53 - South Florida (FBS) 21
Eastern Illinois (FCS) 40 - San Diego State (FBS) 19
Northern Iowa (FCS) 28 - Iowa State (FBS) 20
Towson (FCS) 33 - UConn (FBS) 18
Southern Utah (FCS) 22 - South Alabama (FBS) 21

I understand the concept of sticking with a quarterback because the receivers are more comfortable working with him, etc. But Nova clearly was struggling, why not let him sit out a couple of possessions?

Yeah, the smart play there is probably just take the knee and go to OT, though as bad as Alabama's starting kicker had sucked up to that point, OT was far from a sure thing for them. If you're not going to do that, through the Hail Mary. At that distance, the missed FG being returned is a real possibility.
I think douchebag Sabin wanted to humiliate his starting kicker by sending out the second stringer, a redshirt freshman, so he could kick the winning FG. That probably led him to make that stupid call, and he thus flushed a national championship down the shitter to make some kind of fucked up point.

Yeah, great... if you're an alabama fan.
Under those circumstances, bammer probably gets back into the title game, and it's like the bammer-lsu rematch again, with them against the SECCG winner.
No thanks. They've had their "second chance" once already this decade.

I hear ya. I'm all for chaos, but not at the risk of giving bama a second chance.
For purely selfish reasons, I'm hoping that the "chaos" is created by FSU, OSU and AU all winning on Saturday, and the NCAA/BCS committee left having to explain to OSU and their fans why they jumped a one loss AU team in ahead of an undefeated OSU.
And, no, this won't be fixed by a 4 team playoff either. If it were in affect this year, they would still likely stick bama into a 4 team bracket, and have to explain to the Big12 champ AGAIN, why they were left out (like they were when the bammers got their first rematch), and replaced by a bama team that didn't even win their own division, let alone their conference.
And don't get me started on all of the other conference champs that would be left out as well.

Join a conference already, and they'd have a shot like anyone else.
And I hate the "at large" idea for football.
When was the last time anyone paid attention to which school actually WON the ACC basketball regular season, or the stupid conference tournament?
They are meaningless, except to the small conferences who only get one team in to that ridiculously large field of 64. For them, it's a big deal. For the "bcs" conferences... who cares?
The Iron Bowl wouldn't have been nearly as dramatic this year if bama could have still made a playoff as an "at large" team. What made it so much more enjoyable was not only beating them head-to-head, but the afterglow of knowing AU had just stomped their chance at a "three-peat".
It ended up being a conference semi-final game.
Same for the OU-OkSt and Baylor/UT games this last weekend. Etc.
