Like I remember when the Million Little Pieces thing broke and all these people that dont read a lot were just floored that someone would lie in an auto biography. It happens all the time.

I think it's just nitpicky. Yeah, it's dumb that if you throw in that true events card people get more amped about it, but there's also nothing stopping people from reading up on the 100% truth of what happened. If 100% truth is a real thing, which it isn't.

If you have to pay out to real people for taking their story to base your fiction on why wouldn't you try and commodotize that as much as you can?
