You're describing Night Of The Gun (David Carr). That book has a fairly unique perspective.
The Lange/Sixx books.... they're doing something a little more conventional. More straight forward.
The first Lange book seemed almost implausible at times.
Either those details aren't accurate, or he wasn't quite AS loaded as he professed to be.

I'm gonna read it for sure. No doubt about it.

High Tension is french but it's really good. One of the first 'new style' horror movies.

Rec is spanish and really good. They remade it in America and I hear that version is good too.

Scarey Movie 2...Chris Elliott's little hand was so disturbing I couldn't eat chicken fingers for months!

to this day, The Ring was the most fucked up scarey movie I've seen...again, it was the mixture of scarey and disturbing that got me (it's disturbing when the tortured becomes the torturer)

avoid all slasher movies...cheap horror
