I never made it to the bottom of the Alpine Slide.

There was a brake handle in the middle of the sled you rode, push forward to go faster, pull back to slow down.

I used to just grab the handles on the side of the sled and jam the brake handle all the way forward with my foot until I hit a turn too fast and flew off the track.

Remember the Cannonball?

For the uninitiated, it was a tube water slide that went underground, so it was pitch black, then hit a 90 degree turn, then shot you out 15 feet above a mountain spring that was surrounded by trees, so the water was like 50 degrees.

Well, in the very next breath he could say that mental illness doesn't really exist and is a made-up problem. And if anyone tried to explain the psychology, or in some cases physiology, of different mental illnesses, he would reply with his standard, "That doesn't even make sense!"

Jenny the Hutt kind of derailed things a bit.

This I don't get, people want the old R&F back? This is exactly what the old show was, admittedly it wasn't another radio host, it was mostly listeners, but it was always Ron and Fez fucking with them. I know Fez backed off a bit when Jenny got there, but he did have some funny lines, and Ron was hilarious with her, and BL.
People forget that this show was never a comedian driven show, most guests were listeners, and they were perfect fodder for the kind of banter we heard today. I know Fez was already degrading, but moving to the secure Sirius studio made it much harder to get listeners in, making Fez become completely useless.

LeedsJr
12-11-2013, 11:42 AM
I'm not a Jenny the Hutt basher. I usually enjoy when she comes in.
I just thought the buddays had a nice energy and flow going in the conversation early, then things got choppy and disjointed with Jenny. Even with BL added in.

I think Spandy has been on 3 episodes of "Ron & Fez" abs he is still quite memorable.
To be honest, throwing his vegan baked ziti in the trash was, as Franklin seemed to think, taking it a little too far.

As usual... I'm a few days behind.
But here's my two cents.

Holy shit I hate when Hutt is in studio.
Ron is never more annoying than when there is a female in the studio. He works soooo hard at being "on". Literally every sentence out of his mouth is a line. A joke. A jab. A bit. Whatever. It's maddening.
Add to that, that Jenny Hutt is feverishly trying to be cool whenever she's in there with Ron... and it's a recipe for disaster.

I almost NEVER skip a break. No matter who is in there... I listen to the show. The only time I skipped a break was when all that shit was going on with Mafia Life Chris and Fred Brooklyn. (some nonsense with a van or whatever)
Maaaybe there was one other time that I had to punch out.

These breaks with Hutt are skip-worthy. It's just bad radio. There's no point of view. It's just lines & gags & teasing for minute after minute after minute.

Okay.
Rant over.
